I love that the barrel is aligned with the bottom of the cylinder, which is a real trick used on high caliber revolvers to improve recoil handling, since the gun gets pushed more directly over the center mass and into your hand, rather than twisting up. Even for something as simple as this, as some people called it, "toy" with barely any punch to it, bro went with engineering thoughtful design.
@joemogley4 ай бұрын
I think thats actually kinda a design fault. This is a gun without a lot of recoil so using a bottom barrel doesn't make sense , and keep in mind bottom barrel revolvers aren't objectively better. First and most importantly, the inner mechanics need to be much more complicated when using a bottom firing revolver . Lots more moving parts. More points of potential failure. For something like this, printed out of 3d printed plastic which is more prone to jamming or getting caught, that's a serious concern. Also, while this prolly doesnt matter here, height over bore - the sights on a bottom barrel revolver will always have a more strict zeroing distance.
@_cryobyte3 ай бұрын
nimko spaghetti
@UselessZero22 күн бұрын
@@joemogley they aren't more complicated in this case as it's electrically ignited. The only real flaw, imo, is that trigger is relying on a bolt to make contact with 2 wires inside of the frame. Better solution would be to use a contact switch.
@theguywiththeoldds389618 күн бұрын
I don't think the faults are a concern as he lights it with a switch, sights however is a great point but also the bulky design might encourage people printing this with no gun knownledge to grip the front and burning their hand/forearm on the cylinder gasses

Fascinating work, however you might wanna try a more traditional top-cylinder firing system. The benefits of shooting from the bottom cylinder (reduced recoil, capability to use break-top loading without stress fractures) aren't really doing anything with a low power system like that. If you fired from the top, your barrel would be a lot closer to your point of aim, leading to much better accuracy at range. I'll admit bottom-cylinder revolvers do have a certain style to em tho lol.

@Leonarco3336 ай бұрын
Yes but it’s much more complicated to do. Thats why real double action revolvers spin the cylinder before firing. Single action revolvers are similar. Both spin the cylinder when the hammer is drawn back. This design doesn’t have a hammer and is electronically fired. I’ve spent dozens of hours working on this problem and making it function the other way is extremely difficult.
