Great idea, but please dont advertise any stand as not falling over without being sandbagged. Sure, it won't fall over without anything on it, but that equation quickly changes when you put a light at the top. I've been personally witness to falling stands due to them being bagged improperly, let alone just left unbagged. It's not worth the equipment's or any person's safety to trust a stand without a bag

The C-Stand setup is what I was after and I literally went and grabbed a couple of these since it's the end of the season anyway so the bases are on sale! Reducing tripping hazard is great!!!
@gregorylagrangeАй бұрын
Nice. Might fall over if a light was on the stand leaning over that far. But the smaller footprint area still offering good stability is useful.

How much does the base weigh?
@parmusical7 ай бұрын
Great tip. I will be having 5kg of load (softbox and cob light), what would be the minimum required weight for the holder?
@JustinPorterMedia7 ай бұрын
There’s really no minimum. If it starts to tip, just add a few sandbags. This setup is ideal for a cramped interview space or things like a tube light etc.
@parmusical7 ай бұрын
@@JustinPorterMedia I'm ordering from Ebay and I want to get it right without the sandbags. Do you remember the weight of yours?

Bro I’m about to do this to all of my lights
@alexhopkinsentertainment884511 ай бұрын
Legend! I use two Aputure 60xs at my weddings one as key and then one as backlight (and then as subtle key on couple) but I also need them on during dancing and Horas and entrances. But I get horrible shadows when crossing the beam for moving shots or photographers in front of them. How do I avoid this?? I have them beamed super high but maybe I need to go higher?? Or if I had four instead of two to create a wash would that solve it? I’m not smart enough to work it out unless I just make sure I’m never in front of the light!
@JustinPorterMedia11 ай бұрын
The best way that I’ve fixed that issue is using 4 lights. One in each corner of the dance floor at a low power. This helps reduce the direct edge/shadow from one light
@alexhopkinsentertainment884511 ай бұрын
Thank mate, exactly what I figured, it's a pain huh! I mean, I am super particular as I can tell you are, it just hurts my soul when I see those shadows or my gimbal outline! Still better than no lights, but that wash seems like a solution. I guess with the 60x's I should probably reduce the spot angle and make it wide beam too, I do like that more contrast look though during Speeches, so I guess I could drop down to Two for that via bluetooth. @@JustinPorterMedia

The fact that thats not just a standard option for video/photography stands amuses me greatly. As heavy base doesn't fall is a ligical thought... are.. photographers illogical? Am i illogical?.. welp. Time to debate some new tools to make for photowork.
