Guy at the store was wondering why I wanted to rent a constant light for my last shoot. I too shoot hybrid! Also, constant lights are more versatile like you said. I know strobes get brighter but I'll always be apt to use constant. Great video, thanks for the tips!

Cool settup.. Only issue I found is having the lamp in frame lighting subject while not looking like it's lit. Naturally the paper should be glowing from the light on the inside if the light is on since that is its modifier. It just make its look out of place IMO.

i would say the only con to constant lights when doing photos is of course the fact you have to have it plugged in vs a lot of strobes are all bbattery
@TheM-M10 ай бұрын
Those photos turned out great however you need a lot of power output to get a well light photo and thats where strobes are better and additional to that, in some cases cheaper than continous lights. I had a single 100w led studio light and it was not powerful enough to give me sharp and quality photos.

You did this effortlessly. I totally underestimated my strobe light, I for sure thought that I’d turn it on attach the snoot and be able to shoot getting the spotlight affect. This is clearly for a duel setup at a hefty price especially if you’re not going to film so I wouldn’t personally advise replacing strobes for that purpose. Those lights consume a lot of power, a lot of weight, and restricts shooting time on location if on batteries. Not disagreeing with what your saying just the wording of, “why you should use constant lights instead” I think whoever is leading the shoot should use the lights which benefits them the most unless unlike you said, if you’re doing both.
@Tommy4k Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback, and you can recreate these setups with cheaper lights, I just used what equipment I had. I also know photographers who prefer shooting constant for the reasons being speed on set/no need for gels/ etc...

I have always shot with constant light, inside and out, but because I started off with videoshoots and stage lighting not flash photoshoots. So to me it seemed ass backwards to rely on a flash of bright light to light a scene, then have to sync it for every shoot. Nah not doing all that. Yea the model gets hotter with constant light but deal with it lol.
