This flat Earther thinks that a sundial proves a flat Earth. Well, not only does he hash up making a sundial, but he can't even get his argument straight when trying to use it to prove the Earth is flat. This one is an instant classic.
Enjoy.

@@backonlazer791 also for his sundial to work even if the sun magically disappeared at night, then during the day the sun would need to make a full rotation around the sundial which is impossible except at the north or south poles. This would also only work for sundials within the flat Earth suns circular rotation, on their models you often see the sun moving on a circular path that has a radius roughly half of the radius of their flat Earth, so if you were on the outer sections of the flat Earth then the sun wouldn’t appear to move the same way, directly under the suns path would show the sun going directly over the sundial, what he claims should happen if the Earth is a sphere. Also if you were within the circular path of the sun you would see the shadow length change throughout the day depending on your location and the effect would be greater the further you are from the centre.

Yeah... Yes!... This!!... The moment he marked out 12 hours I was incapable of not diving into the comments to say this. On its face a 360degree 12hour sundial is stupid, literally nowhere in the world does the sun do a 360 in 12 hours... Not even on pizza earth would that make sense. But, he obviously did this atleast twice right? Once to have the idea, once to record it... How didn't he see that it literally can't be accurate at more than two individual moments in the day the way he set it up. Observing it twice even an hour apart would probably be enough... But why not 12 hours, a day, or a week!!

This flerf actually debunked the flat earth. The way he moved his phone, shows the sun can never set on a flat earth. I actually did make a sundial (sort of) when I was 12. Taped a string vertically on my bedroom window. Taped a piece of paper underneith it. Then every hour I marked the strings shadow. Every few weeks I had to move the paper because the shadow was no longer lining up with the markings.

It did set, there was no light when he set his phone on the desk. Wait wait wait, I've got it. The Sun is a flat round disc always pointed toward us. When it gets to the horizon it flips over, and on the back is the Moon which then travels back across the sky and the cycle repeats. Ha Ha ha, checkmate globies! I'm gunna promote my theory and become rich and famous! (Shut up, the Moon doe not travel the same direction as the Sun, the dark causes you eyesight to flip images.) The part I enjoyed most with his phone light experiment was how when he moved the phone as the sun would move over the equator, it went from darkness with his phone on the desk on one side, then became light, then became darkness again. You know, like the day/night cycle. But when he moved his phone around to show how it must work on a flat earth, there was no night time. The entire circle was lit the entire time. This is the problem with flat earth experiments, they simultaneously disprove flat earth in one area while trying to prove it in another.
@maksymisaiev1828

that is called ignorance. That is the most obvious point, which nobody try to do proper experiment - just use lamp and piece of paper and see how day ight is not possible on flat earth. It is possible on doughnut (thorus) shape and if Earth would have some tricky structure (semithorus, where sun is inside it), but that is only to cover sun movement, when you pick up other points (magnetic field, moon, stars), spheroid is the only realistic option anyway.

His "sundial behaviour" at 8:30 is how literally no sundial works on earth (except as dan notes on the pole itself though even then it'd use a 24h graduation not 12). And the shortening and almost (or actual on the tropics, and as Dan notes on the equator during the equinox) disparition of shadows is exactly what you observe in summer. Dude lectures about sundials but has apparently never looked at his sundial for an actual day let alone day in day out over a year, it's amazing. Also he's apparently never head of vertical sundials.

That honestly pissed me off more than anything else in the video. That and on his outside sundial the lines from 12-6 and 9-3 were nowhere near perpendicular.

The sun would be cheaper to run if they turned it on at night when the rates are lower, and off during the day.
