Hey Tanner, just a heads up. The whole point of flat foot shifting is to maintain boost while you shift to the next gear. Setting your shift RPM to high does not do a whole lot for performance and just adds a massive shock to your drive train each time you shift. Do yourself and your wallet a favor, see what your average RPM drop is when shifting to the next gear is. Say for example you shift from 3rd to 4th and you go from 7000 RPM to 5700 RPM your drop is 1300 RPM. So if you plan on shifting at 7000 RPM set the flat foot shifting to ~5800 RPM so you still get that slight kick but the shock your drive train gets is significantly less. It will perform 99% the same as you have it now but your drive train will love you more. I know its an STI box so it be fine but I think its a good trade off for the longevity of your drive train.

best pops on the rev limiter nice.. also if you know roughly where the RPM will be on the Up shift so say you are shifting at 7K and it drops to 5K on the up shift set the Limiter 0.5krpm about that so 5.5k or there abouts. That way you are not going to get that surge lurch forward and also its just better for the clutch and flywheel to be doing roughly the same RPM when they grab.

Is setting FFS at redline really any different than bouncing off the limiter? Always thought the point was that its lower, like LC 🤔
@Smeedia3 жыл бұрын
That's what I'm curious on as well, but with FFS I can rev the car to 7200RPM then hold the gas and allow it drop back down to 6500 and send it again

Thats soo cool! It'll be good for racing against automatic cars. I bet its hard on the trans/clutch tho
@Smeedia3 жыл бұрын
The trans and clutch would not like it every day but every now and then she can get down 🔥

how do you know how much rpm you should set up for flat foot shifting? I only have a cobb sf intake and access port on my 2021 sti but I don't know how much my peak torque is. Can you help me? Thanks alot!
@Smeedia2 жыл бұрын
For your set up I'd set it to around 5000-5500 🙏

Smeedia I always wanted to flat foot shift with my sti but I feel like it’s bad for the car is it?
@Smeedia3 жыл бұрын
It'll put some wear on the clutch but nothing crazy detrimental 🙏

Yo man I must live right by you haha, i take that same road thru puyallup to go to work. I am in need of a tune for my 13’ STI and didn’t realize you were so local to me. That would be dope if you could hook it up!

Eyyyy!! 🙌 highly suggest surgeline tuning in Portland for tunes, Chris does all my cars 🙌

How much power can you make on a ej25 block with h beam rods and Manley forged pistons? I’m about to hit the dyno just wanna know the limitations of the block
@Smeedia3 жыл бұрын
What pistons? And the rods should have a power rating for what they can hold per cylinder
@robertjost92383 жыл бұрын
@@Smeedia there actually just forged wiseco pistons just looking for a basic limit number
