kinda miss this specifically era cuz the current one in part is a step backwards on terms of aerodynamic almost like if we go back to 2011 but with hybrids engines.

the 2017-2021 class was very good and fantastic! I feel it was further aided by VW pulling out - w a major dominant player out, the field was equalized and gave a truly superb and tense fight year in and year out. I feel kinda ambivalent about their aesthetics nowadays, but when they were introduced they were the group b return we were all longing for (even complete w the awful spectator accident in the first night of monte carlo that cost that spectator's life :c ). As for Rally1, I have some grievances and fears, namely that more manufacturers have not been attracted to the sport; unlike w the hypercar regulations that's brought over so many new names in the endurance champ, or dakar going full unlimited w its car class attracting Audi and other teams to build cars for it, the Rally1 regulations seem stagnant, and a step too small for the world of rallying; I almost feel it'd be better if Rally2 became the top class instead, where the competition is already fierce, and the costs are way lower; imagining Mikkelsen in his Skoda and Rossel in his Citroen duking it out w Tanak and Neuville in their Hyundais and Evans and Rovanperra in their Toyotas would be a mega fight indeed. Still tho, it remains to be seen. I just hope Hyundai doesnt pull out and we're left in an even more dire situation then back in 2009 and 2010 when only Ford and Citroen raced - except this time it will be M-Sport and Toyota, where there is a clear and vast balance of budget and power.

I used to see world rally championship in 2002 in the Deutschland Rallye than in 2004 on the Montecarlo rally. I used to said that is the top of the tops it's mega (thanks to names like Colin Mcrae Seb Loeb Carlos Sainz stc.) When rallying is start to fade int the 2010's is fear that it would end fastly. When introduced the WRC+ category i getting excited and I hoped that I could see them in Croatia in 2020 (becouse I living in Hungary) due to the F****ing pandemic I missed them but when I see the new hyprid cars this year I said it was nuts we just stands at the roadside and shaking heads that the speed the accelration is epic. And also we laugh when some young guys walking next to us to the next corner and saying " how they brake before the next corner". Man they arrived FLAT OUT 4 wheels sliding through the tarmac road and even do not lif off at the corner where the guys standing. It is pure madness. If the future of rallying is hybrid I don't give a shit about it if they going like this.

I think we are entering one of those Group B era again, because the cars are getting insanely fast, of course in straight line Group B still faster, but that also will soon change if they allow for some changes in restrictions, they should think about it, because today's safety is good enough to take that risk. P.S.: Thanks for this series of videos you made, really helps to get the basics of rally history.

Another very good excellent video! I had honestly forgotten the 2017 wrc driver cup series, this was fascinating insight. Thank you so much for the series, i've shared it w friends and it's been a fantastic primer for them to get up to speed on wrc's rich rich history) Do you got any plans to continue this series or do more rally-related content? :D

Thanks! There will definitely be more rally content to follow on this channel, as there is a lot of stuff that wasn't done in detail in this series. As for a continuation of this series, I am possibly thinking about covering another motorsport in the future, but it likely wouldn't be for a while, as making episodic content like this can be quite tiring. I will be posting a channel update soon regarding all of this so keep your eyes peeled!

The modern stuff is really fascinating but hot hatches shouldn't be WRC1. I loved the 90's/00's saloon car types. Legacies/Lancers/Octavias etc!
