I ride the stamps (large size). Because of nerve damage to one foot, I have to wear sandals (Birks or Crocs), and they do a great job of supporting and retaining my feet. Love 'em. Just one point: the stamps run on bushings, not bearings. Probably makes them a bit more robust, but I'll never test them to destruction anyway. Highly recommended. I'm a size 42 shoe btw. I'd always go for the bigger pedal just for a larger load area and possibly better retention against twisting.

Crankbrothers stamp 3 in MacAskill edition, best pedals I’ve tried, very grippy, cheap and easily replaceable pins which I’ve already done and the bearings still are smooth without play after a few thousand miles. Best aluminum pedal for 60 dallars in my opinion.

The Chesters are extremely popular, and for good reason. Durable, well-designed and built, and relatively inexpensive. My main complaint is that grip is not that great compared to some alternatives...my personal favorite being the Welgo B219. Some concavity and different pins would go a long way with Chesters, and while replacements are cheap and easy to find (at Home Depot, even), I replace pins a lot less frequently on pedals with set screw style pins.

If you ride in the winter I'd recommend reinforced nylon pedals such as the Fyxation Mesa pedals. You are less likely to develop ice buildup on plastic pedals. If you ride in the winter you really should rebuild the pedals in the spring, as the salt and sand on the road do really nasty things to the seals. Also use synthetic grease as continues to lubricate in subzero weather whereas petroleum grease stops lubricating when it gets too cold..
@ScottANovak
@ScottANovak 5 жыл бұрын
Redline CV-2 synthetic grease has very low friction, extreme high pressure protection, and also has a higher high washout resistance than your typical marine grease. It's useful down to -100°F. I'd rather use a synthetic grease which remains flexible and actually lubricates at subzero temperatures.
