I am changing a flat roof to a pitched roof and in this video I am removing the existing roof deck that is 18mm OSB, we where lucky that the boards and joists had all been screwed together however many of the screws had rounded out and I had to use an old trick to easily remove the deck
The drills featured in this video are both by Hilti as are the hole cutters used in removing the boards\

That hole saw trick was brilliant 👍 Got me thinking you could probably just do it with the pilot bit still in, no need for the template. You’d probably have to use a slightly bigger hole bit so you could dodge the nail. (Have the nail in between the pilot and the teeth of the blade)

@@ukconstructionNo worries. I think it piqued me because I love plywood and really dislike OSB (Yes, I’m weird!!) but it was nit picking really. Thank you for all the other great tips and information- Happy times when you could work with decent plywood without a mortgage ??😂. Will be interesting to see what you put back. Hope you explain rationale (eg cost v weather resistance?) 👍

Hi Robin, I'm at the quote stage in replacing a 30 degree pitched roof on a 6.4m by 5.5m garage, with a valley attaching to the house roof on one side of the pitch and an abutment against wall on the other side of the pitch. The whole roof and frame need to come off and wall plate need replaced. It would just be steel going on nothing fancy. I'm getting quotes in the region £35000, could you give me some advice, I'm from Scotland
