How do you love rap when rap doesn’t love you back? From Rico Nasty’s harassment from toxic Carti fans, to Saucy Santana's unapologetically femme aesthetics in a queerphobic industry, to the assault case that put Megan Thee Stallion’s entire image on trial, each episode of Louder Than A Riot - the second season of our investigative hip-hop podcast - unpacks the unspoken rules of rap that hold the entire culture back. Tap in to our first episode at n.pr/louder-season-2.

Sarina: I moved to North America in early 20s. So picked up his music pretty late. Big fan of rhythm and poetry. Mac also inspired me to write. Tiny desk always brings the feels, and I have definitely cried for many of them but this one had me basically tears streaming down my face from start to finish. The brotherhood and musicianship is magical. This was probably my fave tiny desk I've seen yet.

Cant say that I was familiar with the group. Thank you NPR for putting me on game...!! This was an audio experience! This performance was so good that I'm honestly afraid to go hear the original versions of these cuts. Hard to live up to your "first date". If a band is not in their rotation, they need to hire these queens IMMEDIATELY!!

Fist heard that line from Cassius Clay who became Muhammad Ali. Going through a time of racial and government issues that are quite similar to today.

It is sort of about being labeled as a number instead of an individual when it comes to the military draft. Why fight in a war for a country that will not protect you? In my example, it was about a black man in the Vietnam war. An underrepresented man in a controversial war.

Check out the afterlife video, it just dropped last week. All their visuals are tight, though, and Erick produces all their stuff. They're also a part of Beast Coast, super group from New York and Clockwork Indigo, who is them and the Underachievers. They're some hardworking dudes, man, glad you discovered them ✌🏼❤🌐
