How the hell does this great artist remember the rap from all these great songs. What a memory, what an artist. Grey Area was my go to album but since then Simbi has become a superstar. She is now above the great Janelle Monae as a show woman.

Remembering lyrics (and poetry) is actually something people are very good at. Think about historic oral traditions, like Homer's Odyssey ... a poem that takes days to recite, and many people could memorise. It's especially easy with music. Learning the lines for a play is much harder, since there's no music to help cue.

Simbi and The Young Fathers are the most entertaining live acts at the moment and that’s not having a go at all the other excellent music coming out of the world. This girl is just the best thing I think I’ve ever heard and I’m an original follower of the punk and new wave scene with so many fantastic bands I followed in days gone yore. THE SLITS being one of them and of course from the reggae side LINTON KWESI AND STEEL PULSE

This Empress is well overdue all the recognition she's received this year. saw her at Newcastle o2 almost a year back and her presence from that night along with her empress opener alewya has kept me feeling more than blessed. minor tings, but got a RAW skin off the amazing bass player. forgive me for not knowing his earth name , God knows the pits of struggle Simby and her musical family have risen i&i from... may their families, finances and forever futures be secured by The Most High... Eternally... so let it be

Nah the the greatest, none like her shes much higher than a basic label of best. Simby is a living legend, walks with higher musical purpose...her music has kept me from being the kinda woman she writes about in 'dead body' that venom energy the world cant hamdle ... shes beyond being basic best ....all love, no hate
