As Floor doesn't speak Spanish, she had to learn the lyrics phonetically. In spite of this, she's able to put so much emotion into it - it's quite astounding! And I love Floor's final expression - I'd like that shot in high resolution on my wall! 😃 Hmm, flamenco? Well, I wouldn't really be that surprised - "flamenco metal" perhaps? 😊 Thanks for the reaction!

There is a clip of this song with the commentary both before and after, in which Floor explained that it was hard for her to learn Spanish, despite the fact that she speaks 2-3 languages and sings in 5 languages. She had to learn this song phonetically, sound by sound, and did it within a week. Additionally, while she was singing this song for Rolf, she said that she was also doing this as a thank you to all of the fans that Nightwish has in South America. After having said that, the following day after this show aired, the song was released as a single. It went to #1 in Peru, top 10 in Chile and Argentina, #17 on the US Latin charts, and top 40 everywhere else in South America. By the way. don't be afraid of being a metalhead and dancing salsa. I'm a metalhead and dance salsa and merengue! And as far as flamenco - while they don't like the label, you should check out anything by Rodrigo y Gabriela. They are 2 metalheads that put down their electric guitars, went acoustic, and play a style that is similar to flamenco, despite the fact that they grew up playing Metallica, Slayer, Sepultura, Testament, and others.

Glad to see you both in good health. Floor is a Monster. She can sing in 8 languages: English, Dutch, Swedish, Finnish, Spain, German, Italian and Latin. This performance is one of my absolute favorites. And look at Rolf's smile. It's way brighter than our future. 😁😁😁 And if I remember correctly this went number 1 on the Peruvian charts. 😯

Nice react ladies. Maybe it's known, she sings in Dutch (native language), Swedish (current language because she's married to a Swede and lives in Sweden), Spanish (this one, but in rock style, not salsa/reggaeton like), Finnish (Christmas song), English, German (Vilja Lied from The Merry Widow), Italian, Latin. She sings jazzy and bluesy tunes, pop, rock, hard rock, ballads, opera, musical, metal and does death growls! Seen her solo show in january and she blew me away with her power and versatility. Did all the songs from Beste Zangers (sang Qué se siente there) and her own very emotional Strong (about her mother with reumatics), some After Forever, Revamp and Nemo (Nightwish). Simply said, one of the best performances I've ever seen, and I visited some 200 concerts in the last 50 years, in all kind of styles.

Great reaction, young ladies, and particularly given that you are both native speakers of the language Floor is singing in - I see Marta was expressing surprise at Floor's ability to raise the hairs on her arm, and was especially impressed that you stated that she sounded as if she could speak Spanish Fluently, and almost pass as a native. I watched the entire series of Beste Zangers with English subtitles so I could get all the reactions and commentary. Floor doesn't actually speak Spanish at all, but was given a translation of the song to allow her to decide where to put the emotions and emphasis in, and leaned the lyrics phonetically. She then ran it past a native Spanish speaker to confirm that she had it interpreted properly and was expressing it correctly in Spanish (emotional expression techniques and dynamics vary between languages). In one week, while also learning all the other songs she performed during this show. I've done the same thing (although to nowhere near that standard), to sing in Russian, Dutch, German, Italian, Latin and Welsh back in my choral singing days. Of course, I did not have to perform solo, and all decisions on dynamics and emphasis were the responsibility of our musical director. I very much doubt if singing my (bass) part solo would have left any native speaker of those languages with any belief that I could actually converse in them, never mind fluently. Of course, Floor is a vocal Goddess, and there is only one kind of singing she can't do - bad singing! Most singers sing what they can, Floor sings whatever she wants, and however she wants!

Floor Jansen is her name: she comes from The Netherlands, She playes in a band Nightwish (Finnish band), Living in Sweden, speaking English. But since Nightwish is very populair in the South of America and this dude you see had a hit in the Sounth of America, she wanted and now had the opportunity to do something back. She does not speak Spanish. But she can sing Rock, Metal, Growling, Opera, Pop. Amazing singer !

"About Love I don't Know a Thing" is definitely a country song and the most astonishing thing about it, it's Floor and the band who made it sound like that, when Ruben's original wasn't a country song. It could easily have been on a playlist of Loretta or Tammy without sounding out of place.

Try About Love I Don't Know A Thing (kzbin.info/www/bejne/l5ncnJR3ha2bqZo) if you want Country and Western style from this show. She sang so many genres and in so many languages it was mind blowing. Excellent reaction ladies and I enjoyed this just as much as any Floor song because music is a universal language so even though the lyrics were in Spanish for her South American fans you still felt the passion and emotion of each note even if you don't speak the language yourself!!

You guys talking about the difference in Spanish between Spain and the Americas. Some years back I was living in California stationed there in the Army. My PLT Sgt was married to a Spanish woman. She told me that while she could talk to the US Hispanics/Mexicans there .. sometimes one would SHOCK the other with a phrase or use of words that might be common in Spain but SHOCKING to Mexicans and vice versa ... I was fascinated about how the language or at least usage was different

From Netherlands, floor learned Spanish in three weeks, to learn to pronounce the song correct for Rolf Sanchez, She speaks Dutch, German, English, Swedish, and Finlandic, not sur if she speaks French aswell..it wouldn't surprise me to be hopnest
