You touched on one thing I love so much about Floor. Yeah she was hella nervous, something so far out of her wheelhouse; a language she doesn't speak, a style she doesn't sing, a setting that intimate and direct; most other singers would've gone for a much safer performance. But Floor? She gathered herself, her strength and went balls to the wall, pedal to the medal, and NAILED it. That's the thing I love about her. She gives 110%, no matter what she does. Different language, different style, different techniques, she even wore a style of clothing she normally doesn't, and yet she just goes ahead and does it. She works so hard to get where she is, and then makes it look effortless while doing it. Even her own physical stature, when she holds her arm out towards the end you can see just how well BUILT she is. She works out a lot to keep her core strength up, to be able to do these powerful performances. I don't know many singers who put as much work and guts into their performances as Floor does. She's 110% earned that 'f yeah, I nailed it' look at the end.

You're right, but I also wanna give credit to Tim Akkerman. He also does not speak Spanish and his pronounciation was bad, but Ok he did it also and turned that salsa song into a more pop variant (which I also liked more than the original). So Floor wasn't the only one far out of her comfortzone and it was nice to see them do that

​@@rikvanommen9564 I've watched all of the episodes (with translation) and I've been surprised how many of them have really thrown themselves into this and gone out of their comfort zone. They really care about pleasing the person in the hotseat and not just looking cool or trying to increase their own fame. I think they all deserve a lot more attention for the work they put in. Of course, Floor has been Floor and put 110% into it every week just like she does with everything she sings. I doubt she ever does a bad performance because she puts her all into every performance, she sings from the heart even though she uses her talent as a springboard.

She told her fellow contestants that she was very nervous. She had the idea that she musically was far away from the Latin genre and did not know how to move to it. After her performance she said she was relieved it went so well. The other contestants told her that her movements were very sexy and were fitting with the music. She was happily surprised by this. And asked Rolf Sanchez if he could give her dancing and Spanish lessons. :-)

She DOESN'T speak or know Spanish, since I watched the show they talk about how hard this song was for her to do. The original song is by the guy on the couch is a salsas song about his breakup with his ex, Floor took this and made it a rock power ballad, and he is just blown away by what she has done to his song. The other guy next to him is the host of the show. She says in the show she chose Spanish because she wanted to reach out to her Latin-America fans and maybe be able to do Nightwish songs for them in Spanish. Also no mention of her dress that she did just for this song.. ? Also if you react to the other songs she did, as well as the other singers that are going to be singing HER songs starting Saturday I WILL BE HERE TO WATCH IT ALL.. :-)

Great description👌🏻 The originally Latin song from the guy in the White/black shirt (Rolf Sanchez) was 8wks nr 1 on the Billboard top 100 He is really great in Latin America! He was blown away that his song was made a rocky/metal version by Floor. This is so much fun to watch..Especially for the slngers to sing a song for the artist in the spotlight...not knowing what to expect. Also the "Marcel Visser"-Band is great. Such briljant professional musicians. Awesome!!

I love this show as well, singers doing important songs for this week's GUEST, not a competition but a fun group of professional that appreciate each others talents!! Floor did say she was nervous but wanted to do this in Spanish as it was a Salsa song and her South American fans go nuts for her even more than the band!!! I am sure that this will get some air time on Spanish radio and I see a lot of Spanish language reactors doing this performance with generally very positive reactions. Great reaction by you and nice explanation of the "psych myself up" moment and the other techniques she was using in this performance. She makes you FEEL every song she does and this Spanish song was perfect for that, maybe she can do this on the South American leg of their next tour their in 2020!!!

I seem to be coming to this party really late. :-) The show format is awesome. And they seem to choose quite level-headed participants. And that makes it a nice thing to watch when you time to spare. Floor was quite nervous in the beginning, but she got very into the groove of the song and it showed in her body language, as well. She was able to shake off the tension from nerves very quickly, otherwise it would have possibly made breathiness in her voice sound uneven. Breathiness was present throughout the song, even though she was heavily regulating it; especially during the more rock-ish part, but it was still there in that "ahora". I would never have guessed that she would what she did at 2:49 (with those cute wrinkles on her nose) to accentuate what she had been already doing. Her tonal quality and vocal colour in this particular song reminded me strangely of Melanie C from Spice Girls (I am not comparing their singing abilities). Floor´s natural singing voice is warmer and not as abrasive, though. It seems that a way to achieve it is to pull corners of your mouth back a bit and ever so slightly up, bare your upper teeth, put a tongue over your lower teeth and add a bit of air. Her wide smile works well with it and it looks natural. A then adding a little more flavour with the raspy distortion when she enters the more rock-ish phase of the song. It was fun and very impressive overall. ;-)

Valerie, you'd really love @Denise Hofs' translation work for captions - it really gives a good feel of what they were saying before & after. Yes Floor was nervous as hell, she said so! IMO the whole styling & sound was hard rock...in fact quite a few of us have said this really was a metal power-ballad, but she kept the Latin flair. Awesome! You are correct. Floor even stated that she was a little nervous singing this song. She had some difficulty figuring out a good arrangement for her style. She claimed that the band really helped a lot. The band by the way is really great. Obviously highly talented studio session players. She did it in Spanish for all of the Nightwish fans in southern and Central America.

This was her first time singing in Spanish, and she couldn't sing it in its original form because she was not familiar with Salsa music. She she changed the song into a Rock version instead. She even told Rolf that it was impossible to sing it in Salsa, because it was out of her comfort zone. Rolf was excited when Floor said she changed it to a Rock song.
