Fun reaction and great commentary. I find it really inspiring that she's shy and battles chronic depression but she transforms herself into the person her art needs her to be, and yet as you say she invites the crowd to join the show. Not just audience participation but her energy and attitude. Ironically on their North America tour last year they had a band on the ticket that was just the opposite, trying to order and command.

Well done ladies, hope to see your reaction to some of the bands earlier work. I suggest "No hoard of value", "Scissors", "Words of Wisdom", "Just Another", I think most of their music is great and the band does a phenomenal job performing live. They love what they do and hopefully in the near future people will come to the realization that living life in an isolationist bubble is absurd. People have survived and thrived on this dangerous planet for countless generations, only in recent times have we allowed our intuition to be overly influenced by those who stand to profit from our desire to not get sick. We are capable of discerning Truth from Fiction, with Faith and Trust in GOD... The Lord gave us the Spirit of Love and a sound mind, not fear.

Ah, yes, melancholy. Kind of an addictive mood that you sometimes want to drown in. As for the people watching being invited, the original lyrics repeat "no we're not dead" a second time, but on stage she changes the second one to "no you're not dead", sort of directly addressing the crowd and people who might also suffer from seasonal depression. I hope they release On The Top and Pisces from the Melbourne show on YT, because that has some really good crowd participation / interaction.

I always love when someone is being introduced to metal/aggressive music who don't really listen to it, or know what it means. Their biases and the standard "it's nothing but noise" comments immediately disappear when they can see the lyrics, understand what they're saying, and realize there's several different versions of metal. It's always fun to watch their shock when they hear things for the first time. Just like you with your roommate, I'm introducing my daughter (as you already know), and it's been a fun ride thus far. We both have a long way to go, and several bands to introduce to them, and it's going to be awesome seeing both of their progressions as we dive deeper into the genre!

A mi me gusta esta ultima parte "This is poetry of me and you", me parece bastante... contemplativa ! :) Mira, aqui lo dejo otra vez : Cult of Luna & Julie Christmas - Cygnus (unofficial lyric video). Es un viaje hacia otro planeta (este final!!!! :o ) y Julie tiene una voz muy unica, ella es la porcelana y la que la rompe. Temazo. Por un live, Cult of Luna & Julie Christmas live @ De Kreun, "The Wreck of S.S. Needle" (timecode 17,25). Hay que ver esto ! Julie es de verdad la voz feminina que mas me gusta en las musicas "extremas" (aunque Caro Tanghe de los Oathbreaker tiene un lugar especial en mi corazon). Y otra cosa un poco diferente : Hacride - Zambra. Es una version metal caotico de un tema de Ojos de Brujo (neoflamenco español), y invitan la cantante original en el tema ! Vale la pena echarle un ojo. Vamos, saludos desde Marsella, espero que Julie os robara el anima como ya hizo con tanta gente haha ;)
