Redfish (red drum) are one of the most popular inshore fish species to catch in the United States. Common from the Chesapeake Bay to South Texas, they inhabit shallow bays and estuaries as well as deeper coastal waters. Often found in large schools, they can be targeted when they congregate and move together.
In this episode, I link up with Jim Pollard of Big Daddy Sportfishing right here in Tampa Bay to target these big moving schools of fish. Utilizing artificial Topwater lures like the @Rapala Skitterwalk and also live bait ( whitebait aka scaled sardines ) , we were able to locate some roaming redfish and put some bait in their faces. We also caught some nice snook and speckled trout in the process. If you listen and pay close attention to this video, you will learn important information and techniques for locating schools of redfish and how to present your bait to get a strike. It was an outstanding day with some BIG redfish catches. Be sure to visit bigdaddysportfishing.com and check out Captain Jim for a fishing trip of a lifetime.
