Really cool looking lure. I can't wait for spring fishing here in the Midwest
@jayjohnson96684 жыл бұрын
I have found if you really yank that popping cork hard and make a lotta noise you will attract more fish. It took me awhile to figure this out but don't be afraid to make too much noise as it seems to even bring in the bigger reds and snook sometimes. Good luck!!😎

I'll give that a shot. I just need to use it more often so I can gain some confidence with it

Gotta work the shrimp way slower. Shrimp don't move very fast. Just cast out, let it slowly sink to the bottom, then very slowly reel in. It's not a paddle tail, no need to jig it at all. Usually I have a fish on before it even hits bottom.

Great video as usual. Way to power through. Keep this between me and you but have you ever tried that DOA shrimp texas-rigged backwards
@SeeYaDude4 жыл бұрын
Yes I have. It's a great technique when fishing around mangrove roots so you don't get snagged, or areas with really thick grass

I've never had luck on the DOA shrimp. I know a guy that uses the vudu shrimp constantly.

Question i want to ask. I always see you use light braid but always go heaver on the fluro. Is there a reason why. “Fresh water fisher here”. Thanks for any info.
@SeeYaDude4 жыл бұрын
I use lighter braid because I can then fit more line on my spool and also cast baits further. Since I do this, I go heavier on the leader to match the species and size of fish I'm going after. Surrounding structure and water clarity also affects what size leader I use

Unfortunately, there was only one video this time because it was such a short trip. However, I will definitely be back sooner than later because that place was awesome! I'm also planning other camping/fishing trips for the near future so keep an eye out for those

Hey I’m a new fisher and before you pick up the fish why do you say gotta wet your hand
@SeeYaDude4 жыл бұрын
I do that when handling a speckled trout because they have slime on their body that protects them from parasites and diseases. If you touch them with dry hands, then that removes a lot of the fish's slime and puts the fish at risk. The majority of fish people catch have this slime, but speckled trout are especially fragile. Wetting your hands greatly reduces the amount of slime removed when handling them. That's why you should wet your hands before handling a trout or try not touching them at all if possible

Sucks that you can't keep trout, snook or redfish! We are killing it in the NE Fla on all species of fish! Go North of the Pasco/Hernando line and go rip some lips!!!

I’m coming to Tampa bay this week any tips? Great vid
@SeeYaDude4 жыл бұрын
The trout bite has been good lately. Try targeting them on grass flats, especially ones that have deeper pot holes. Small swimbaits like the D.O.A. C.A.L. or Shrimp lures work the best for me. If you also fish those baits around mangroves, creeks, or oyster bars, you could pick up some redfish and snook too
@aidenwetzler94474 жыл бұрын
Ok do you know anywhere that would rent rods thanks

Unfortunately I don't off the top of my head. I would do a google search for fishing tackle rentals around the area you're gonna be at. Maybe there's a local tackle shop that'll let you rent some gear
