Been fishing plenty of time and just recently did I understand the importance of lure weight selection vs rod choice , time created a natural sensor of a correct combo in my arm from that point on my fishing has improved tremendously it’s unbelievable the importance of the correct feel in your rod and lure amazing video and great video cap. This took me a lot of time and money to understand so I believe that the beginner fisherman won’t understand till somebody explains it or after spending a lot of time on the water

I have been fishing for years and years. Just got into artificials in the last 2 years. I have finally developed that same feeling. You automatically know as soon as the lure hits the water if it's within the range for power and action on the rod. Thanks to C.A. for all of these videos helping us make ourselves better

Another great video CA!!! You have a great way of breaking things down to the basics. Excellent points. Since we are getting into that time of some really cold weather fishing I would like to see a video on how you dress for the cold on the water. The layering, the type of fabrics, the windbreakers, protection from cold rain and spray etc. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

I agree with all this. Speed is more important than people think. After fishing the mosquito lagoon I’ve realized this because days when I caught 15 reds on artificial I look back and I always noticed I was using a paddle tail with a weedless hook that forced me to slow it down a lot. Also biggest issue I see with people is spending too much time in one spot, I’ve seen people fishing one island on a kayak I go cover 4-8 miles and catch 20 fish, 4 hours later I go back and I see them still fishing the same island or general area. Well if the fish are not there you could throw gold and you ain’t catching anything. Biggest mistake is not covering a lot of area and reeling in your lure too fast! Great video

I recently started catching redfish on a spinnerbait because I took your advice and slowed down. Now I understand why I never caught bass with them. But I got a redfish magic and slowed down and boom, caught a red. And last Sunday I went in the kayaks with my buddy. He was popping and waiting with his cork. I was popping softer and dragging more then letting the jig sink. He caught a bunch of small trout, reds and a flounder. I caught 1 redfish but it was 25". I think the smarter fish like the more subtle approach around marsh grass.

I kayak fish. I do not have a tower to stand on for great site fishing. I think i have found that side scan works looking in 6-8 foot of water and towards shore for fish. What do you think? I still look for birds, jumping bait etc.

About how deep underwater does the water temperature change when a cold front comes through
@flatsclasscharters
@flatsclasscharters 7 ай бұрын
Depends on a few factors but the water shallower than 3’ is significantly colder. I believe 6-8’ is where it starts to become a better temperature refuge.

@lmb25315

I'm not CA, but it depends on where I'm throwing but I love throwing gold spoons and also the kicker crab z.
@lmb25315
@lmb25315 7 ай бұрын
The reason I like the kicker crab for sight cadting is bcs when it sits there idle it still looks natural. A paddle tail or jerk shad almost NEEDS to be worked. But that kicker crab you can move quicker, very slowly pull it, or let it sit. All are good options. But the highlight of it being able to sit there and look good gets you the most out of your cast, I feel.

@lmb25315
@lmb25315 7 ай бұрын
@TCampbell1990 the are definitely not a power fishing lure. I break them out when I'm working around oyster bars a lot bcs I very lightly vertically jerk them. Even when they get hung with the little vertical movements, they almost always come out. So that scenario and also sight casting. I basically keep one tied on one of my rods 24/7. It's on a 3/8 texas eyed jighead. They are pretty buoyant, so I would not go any lighter than that. I did one time and it took way too long to drop.

I have a honey hole and it's so full of bait and fish because of restricted access from the main part of Tampa Bay it don't matter what you throw at them anything that looks like either a white bait or a shrimp works but one thing that works for me even in the worst conditions is a hot pink soft tail which turns a perfect orangy shrimp color in the emerald green water of Tampa Bay
