On my very first run I didn't pull Gale out (not gonna touch some crazy magic) and I immediately killed the guy who literally tried to basically murder me twice; the second time after I already forgave him and invited him into my traveling home and fed him and clothed him. I know people are going crazy over Astarion, but if I hadn't seen how he picks locks, I'd henceforth always kill him in any run.

In this case they take into account every possible specific outcome for each of your companions - so I'm sure there definitely at least 17k permutations, but only a small subset of endings to the core story.

As for the ogre, she just wanted to see his reaction to the completely missable ‘Funny Ha Ha’ moment. And he enjoyed it! He laughed! Putting way too much of your own emotion into a couple of friends playing a game together. I haven’t had this much fun watching any other group play the game. She’s even letting him take the lead and only giving him input on occasion to help him have as much fun with the game as possible!

I dunno I kinda respect the kill on Astarion, the Owl bear cub was overkill but killing a vampire that just tried to attack you in your sleep is a pretty reasonable reaction. The lae'zel one was a bit silly as well. Considering she did not actively try to kill you, but it's still somewhat reasonable.

Astarions choice was purely selfish. He could’ve continued hunting boars and other wildlife in the forest but gave into temptation. He will even outright kill you if you still let him bite but don’t keep him on a short leash. Lae’zel attacks only when she correctly sees that you’re beginning to transform into a illithid. Honestly a mercy compared to the pain of transforming and living the rest of your days as a tentacle slave.

Astarion decides to see if he can break one of the rules, which is to feed on anything sentient. Should he have tried to feed on you without consent? Obv not. But it was a trauma-based decision, not purely “ooh what delectable snacks I have here”, and he respects the limit of feeding on enemies only afterwards The voice actor said he based Astarion on a stray cat that took him 2 or 3 years to befriend

@@Hexer404 understanding WHY he’s evil doesn’t excuse THAT he’s evil. As you’ve just said “he decides” to use us the player for his own selfish goals, whether maliciously or not. Also I’m sure he’s just fine with only feeding on enemies as 1) it means keeping the rest of the party off his back and 2) I’m doubtful one’s morality comes through in the taste of blood. He’s a phenomenally written & voiced character, he just blows for 70% of the game if you’re not romancing him.

Been running dnd games for years and playing BG3 since it's Early Access was released way back when, I would give anything to experience this game for the first time again so I love seeing folk do just that. Loved the Travis Cameo 23m in as well, top tier. I am glad you have a guide who wants you to have an authentic experience but also the fact that they dictated your stats and didn't give you a better Dex score (esp as a barbarian) is killing me.

Of course you take every oil, firewine, and smokepowder barrel you can find those things are great for setting up traps for difficult fights. I once took out Dror Ragzlin and his whole group with a single fire arrow and several barrels.
