In defense of VLokken-stein's monster: Mole ( Pronounced Moh-lay) is a Mexican style sauce that uses chocolate in the base that slaps, so I would imagine with the butter and the hot sauce combined with it not being super sweet would make it taste similar.

I think the magic of sandwiches is that you can put ingredients that you wouldn't normally eat, or you wouldn't normally mix together, but in a sandwich all the flavors kind of blend together so that you don't really taste each individual ingredient, but only as a whole. Of course, there are some ingredients, or "ingredients", that can overpower the other flavors and ruin the overall taste. Especially if it's a particular ingredient you don't like, or perceive that you don't like, that can also ruin it for you. Like sardines. But other than that I think sandwiches are interesting to experiment with.

Chocolate works really well with savoury things. Especially if the chocolate isn't very sweet. There's a reason why a lot of recipes call for cocoa powder/chocolate in chili con carne. I work at McDonald's. Believe it or not ordering just a bun and cheese is actually more common than you'd think: most of the time it's parents getting their picky child a "grilled cheese". We also get things like "Double Quarter Pounders, extra everything, no bun" and "ice cream, put it in a cup, no cone" and "Big Mac only bun and meat", so never feel bad about getting a seemingly odd order; i promise we've had stranger. One time someone asked for a Big Mac but replace the mac sauce with Tartar sauce, no meat, and triple extra pickles. About gagged making that lol
