Next time take a hair elastic and hook it over the button then tread it through the button hole and hook it back over the button. This way your jeans stay flat and don't look open under your top. My gymnastics coach told us all when she was pregnant she did this so she could wear her jeans longer. :-)

Leggings will fit you if you gain or lose a size. Jeans cut into you at half a size change. I have hundred of dollars of jeans just one size too small.
