First, sodium chloride is in sea salt. Second, the amount of minerals in sea salt are so miniscule that it makes absolutely no impact in one's health. There are numerous studies proving this. Salt intake is about balancing electrolytes. I for one need the high levels of sodium chloride to increase my blood pressure and prevent black outs, where my husband needs more potassium chloride or "lite salt" to prevent headaches from electrolyte imbalance. There is no one fits all when it comes to dietary needs. Be sure to try different types and do your own research to find what suits YOUR needs.

It's not supplying iodine. Iodine is a necessary nutrient for healthy nerve and brain function. The reason basic salt has it is because in America, they started to find many people inland who didn't have access to fish or any other foods that contain trace iodine, were suffering from a deficiency. So in a massive effort, they got most salt companies (Morton being one of the biggest) to iodize their salt, allowing those people to get trace amounts whenever salt was used in their food.

Guys.. Doctor here. Salt will always spike your blood pressure it’s part of the physiological response. As you consume salt, water is dragged along which increased the volume in your circulation. Your kidney then does the job it’s supposed to do which is to excrete the excess fluid and stabilise your blood pressure. Nothing bad about this, it’s the body’s way of maintaining homeostasis. Bottom line - salt does not always cause chronicly high blood pressure, unless your pounding it every day in copious amounts.

Not Himalayan salt from Costco. Himalayan salt there is mined in Pakistan. Their mining practices are inhumane. Not sure about radioactivity, but I’m looking it up. Yikes. Redmond’s real salt is from Utah.

Iodine is needed in the body because some regions don’t consume enough for hormonal homeostasis. Thus iodized salt, it’s needed.

Do your research Ever heard of thyroid???
@sameeradhi11 ай бұрын
If someone is advocating for non-iodized salt like Himalayan salt, it's crucial to approach their advice with caution. Iodine is essential for metabolic functions, and insufficient intake may impact overall health. Ensure you maintain a balanced approach to salt choices for your well-being.
@sherrygagneaux2 жыл бұрын
I started using that but got a dose of reality and had to switch back. My thyroid went crazy needing iodine and I wasn’t getting it. I guess it’s for most people, but if you have thyroid issues stay with the regular iodine table salt.

This is a short. If you watch some of his full-length videos, he talks about Celtic and Real salts. I think he also mentions Maldon. Like another comment mentioned, do further research on your own. He can't do everything.

Try an argument other than an adhominin attack. Bleached/processed salt spikes blood pressure while pink salt doesn't. If you don't care about human health or are incapable of doing so then just say so

Sodium chloride Is sodium chloride. You should take advice from your doctor regarding your salt intake, not some KZbinr who watched a documentary to get his information. I like Bobby, but he needs to stay in his lane.
@17h1272 жыл бұрын
Yep. If you're one of the unlucky people whose blood pressure is sensitive to sodium, you really need to monitor your intake no matter the source. Thankfully most of us don't have this problem and can salt our food to taste. But for those who do have that problem, following Bobby's advice could be dangerous.
