Hello! A little info on XG for you. XG is a 7 member GLOBAL girl group. They are all Japanese (Harvey is half Australian and Hinata is half Korean i believe), but their company(XGALX) is based in Korea. It's sub label of AVEX Inc. which is Japanese company. They promote like K-Pop groups, but they are NOT K-pop. All their songs are in completely English, except some of their Cyphers. XG embodies Old School. Vocals, Rap, Dance. They are seriously taking over! Very much 90s vibe in a lot of their other stuff. And the best thing is, in between full songs, they drop little things like their Tapes and Vox videos to keep people invested. The tapes are all rap, over known beats. All their songs they release are in English to reach a western audience, but they rap and sing in Japanese, Korean and English. Their Fandom is called Alphaz. That's why there is so much "wolfy" energy. I really think you both are going to really enjoy what they have put out so far!

XG is a talented group that delivers in rapping, singing, and dancing. This track was notable for them because it was announced that it would be focused entirely on rap. Usually, their tracks are more mixed with pop, but they play around with lots of sounds. Their previous tracks have had rapping from 3 of their members: Jurin, Maya, and Cocona. You can hear them rap like this in the Cypher video titled "[XG TAPE #2] GALZ XYPHER (COCONA, MAYA, HARVEY, JURIN)" that got buzz on social media for Cocona's rapping over a J.I.D.'s Surround Sound beat. I've been down the XG rabbit hole since Woke Up premiered last week. Their story is crazy, auditions happened in 2017 when the oldest member (Chissa) was 15 and the youngest member (Cocona) was 11. Auditions went for 2 years, and they trained for 3 until they dropped their first song in 2022. I love this group and their songs. I hope one day you two will do an XG day if enough people request it on Discord.

They are yes all Japanese, but they are headquartered and promote out of South Korea, and all their songs, with the exception of the "XG TAPES" are all English. They are considered a GLOBAL POP / XPOP group. Their primary sound is heavy on the HIPHOP and R&B side of music. And alot of their influences are 90s and early 2k artists - I.E. Aaliyah, Luaren Hill, Destinys Child, TLC etc etc.

Brother see their live performance of Woke Up in KBS Musicbank it just came out yesterday.it's fire!!! Btw, the girl with buzz cut is Cocona, she always wanted to shave her hair but their management didn't approved yet in the past because it didn't fit their previous concepts but now they allowed her in the Woke Up MV and it was like its meant to be. The source of this info is from Alphaz who attended their first concert for their World Tour in Japan when they saw Cocona's parents and they asked about her buzz cut.
