Additional notes: Yard is U.K. slang for house/home also for Jamaica (where the term found it’s way into English vernacular) Merciless was a Jamaican dancehall artist who had a song that went “bad man nuh tek bad up” So when he says “merciless” and “being yard born so I ain’t taking no bad up” it’s a reference to that song. Getting badded up means getting sonned/bullied/taken advantage of The writing on the wall/destiny’s child is a reference to destiny’s child’s first album called “the writings on the wall” A lot of this was U.K. centric as you’d expect, but kudos for catching most of the bars
