One of the best songs ever. Definitely in the top 5 in the rock genre. Very underrated song.

This, Coma and November Rain put their UYI albums over AFD for me. They have the " simplistic " debauchery rockers but they also unleashed ballads immense in scope and creative free-flow songwriting. If they did just another AFD, as great as that album was, they would've been closer to being just an 80's band with headbangers - and they certainly aren't that. The fact that they made music like this on the UYIs makes the rockers on AFD (and the ones on UYI) even more great due to knowing how versatile and limitless they are as artists.

Very underrated GNR, especially the guitar track which Slash had to create to go with the piano. In the album notes Axl thanked Slash for it.

This song and the video is a masterpiece. So deep and full of emotion, I love it. Be sure to check out Live Tokyo, “Rocket Queen” “Nightrain” “Don't Cry” and live Paris “Civil War”. They were absolutely killer live during that time and had super good backing singers.

In the documentary for the making of Estranged, the director Andy Morahan said that there is no definitive answer for the meaning of this video and bass player Duff McKagan said it'll keep you guessing forever. As for Slash his mother was black and father white, he definitely ain't Jewish.

Estranged is the best GnR song, mostly because of Slash. The guitar parts are so much fun to listen to. November Rain is a bit to much "radio". Still, one of the more interesting songs by GnR and i would put November Rain somewhere in my top 10 GnR songs.

Flying to Florida for my 18th birthday from the U.K, it’s legal in the U.K to drink alcohol at 18. I found this on C.D single in a Miami record store and sat on the beach at night with it on repeat! Dad bought me beers and was worried he’d get arrested for “supplying a minor”. 😂😂

Axl and Stephanie Brooke up in real life before this video was made. Axl smarted off he'd rather do a video with a dolphin then another woman, so the director said done. November rain was the most expensive video ever made not estranged. The song is about over coming the loss. If you read the story without you that the videos are based on, she killed herself because he couldn't be faithful not depression.. also in the story he died at his home. I'm real life Axl and his first wife Erin had a miscarriage, ever the flashes of the boy, who in real life was Stephanie's son. Ok hope that helps explain some things. If him and Stephanie were together you would've seen a much different video i think. Read the story without you by Del James it'll help you understand the trilogy.

Killer song but the video is weird, it’s like one of those dreams we all have from time to time that’s fragmented, all over the place and makes no sense whatsoever. Also, it’s been well documented that Slash HATED filming the scene when he emerges from the water playing his solo, by that point he was sick of doing these high concept videos. Ironically it’s my favourite scene in the video.

They never made part 3 because Axl and the lead female from the first 2 broke up… So Estranged is essentially “Part 4”… But It was still promoted as a trilogy because of MTV… To this day people think it a trilogy… Part 3 was gonna show how the girl died… It was from a self inflicted gunshot to the head… That is why she was in a split casket… The story ends with Axl destroying his apartment… The apartment catching fire, and Axl playing this song called “Without You” on the piano while everything around him burns down and he is engulfed in flames… The whole story was written by Axl’s friend Del James, who based it off the real life story of Guns n Roses rise to fame…

Boring fact time: Dizzy Reed, shown playing the piano in the video doesn’t play on the song, Axl plays the piano. Plus Izzy Stradlin plays guitar on the song (left speaker rhythm parts), yet his successor Gilby Clark is the guy in the video.

In the first videos the girl who appears is the new one, the boy who appears in this video is her son and he became attached to him and she no longer let him see him, that is why he no longer wanted to put more female protagonists because that put dolphins
