I remember waiting for the 2 disc Use Your Illusion set to come out.. And when i say I was waiting, i mean the whole world awaited this shit to drop. It was in production for a long ass time and the day it dropped it sold some outlandish number of copies. That is something that I miss so much. The buildup of music to drop. And you would physically have to go to the mall or a record store and wait in line to get yours...and they would sell out sometimes. And then shit would get real. Good times.

I want to disagree with ur statement that Slash makes this band. I'm not sure if u understand the contributions from each member that created these epic songs. They are still valid to this day and their debut album came out 35 years ago. Axl and Dizzy wrote most of the music to these songs with Duff added bass and Steven Adler with the beat. Take away any member and they did, the sound changes. Glad you guys have reacted to some of their songs, please keep going. They are an Amazing band❤

Good reaction, guys. But just to explain the video, it was actually the 2nd part of a 3-part song/video series by GnR. Anyway, the story is, that Axl Rose's character had a fiancè, but he cheated on her and she ended up taking her own life with a gun. The entire wedding scene is him dreaming of himself and his then-alive fiancè actually getting married. But that wedding ceremony never actually took place. What actually took place at the church was her funeral rites. Also regarding the fiancè's casket, that mirror in there is next to her face since she took her own life. That practice (with the mirror in the casket) is an old Catholic custom, if I'm not mistaken. I'm Catholic, but I only vaguely recall that, so I'm not 100% certain. Also, hinted at in the music video is the fact that friends are there for you during the happy times, as symbolized by the packed wedding and wedding reception. But 'friends' are not there for you during the hard times, as symbolized by the sparsely-attended funeral service.

The practice with the mirror is due to the fact she shot herself so the mirror doesn't show the damage caused the face/skull from the bullet. You don't have an open casket showing a dead person with part of their face/skull missing.

Axl actually created all of the orchestral parts on a synthesizer in the studio & if you listen to the Sound City versions there is an acoustic version and also a piano only version, all of which show how it was before he added those parts.

Oh and FYI it took Axl 8 years to write this. It could have been on Appetite but Axl was still not happy and he wanted it to be perfect. I remember hearing about November Rain two years before Use Your Illusions came out and it was rumours about this epic song.
