I've been a die-hard "silent" follower of yours for ages. I had to break the silence to tell you that you are a wonderful teacher! Teaching is such a difficult skill to come by not everyone can do it but you make it all look so easy. I have learned so much from you. Thanks so much for working as hard as you do- it is very much appreciated! 😍☺️

I used to love Thataylaa but the more I watch her foundation videos I feel like they are all the same, she cakes on layers of foundations then more concealers, then complain about how that foundation looks cakey. Used to really trust her reviews on foundation though, but the way she applies it now, I kind of doubt them. That 15 layers of foundations on her brush tho
@monetteathlete70787 жыл бұрын
Wer luv her too. Keepin the skin real.
@iKeto_gal7 жыл бұрын
Abstranger - people like Thataylaa want a miracle foundation to cover their acne issues and look like skin. Problem is with any full coverage it's a mask, it's cakey, and it enhances acne texture. Plus she wants it to control her oils. I think she has facial dysphoria like body dysphoria where she cakes on layers and sees a flawless cakeless textureless face. I don't think she realizes that her daily full cakes only irritates her acne. Especially when she uses a brush to apply.

For anyone suffering from acne, my mom is a dermatologist and I've been working as her assistant during my summer breaks, and what I learned is that for whiteheads and blackheads you can use either tretinoin or adapalene at night (tretinoin is cheaper, but light sensitive so make sure to use sunscreen the morning after you use it). If you have large red pimples that means bacteria has entered so you have to use an antibacterial such as benzoyl peroxide, use this twice a day, once at bedtime with the adapalene or tretinoin, then once more in the morning. However, if you are using it with tretinoin, make sure to allow a 30 minute interval between application of either of the products. If you have dark scars from the acne you can also add azelaic cream because it whitens while also treating your pimples, however if you have deep scars, only laser can help. Hope anyone finds this useful, I gave the generic names so just check the acne products you find if they contain those ingredients! Also if your acne is really bad, it'll take about 2 to 3 months for it to really clear up, and once it has, don't discontinue the medication because the medicines are also for prevention.

This woman is a true educator. I can 100% see that she went to college to be a teacher. I wish she had more oppurtunities. Like working with celebrities, getting featured in beauty videos with cosmopolitan, buzzfeed, refinery29 etc because thats how amazing you are at what you do Desi and I wish you all the succes in the world. This video was not only amazing because of the content but the way you handled the topic. Youre so mature and made sure your younger followers who are at their puberty stage know that this is okay, this is normal, even the most beautiful people get breakouts and the fact that youre here to help, to guide them with such precision and detail makes me happy and so proud of you because like I said before, youre a true educator. You told us on snapchat that youve been dealing with some hard times and your skin is reacting to that, Desi as a loyal subscriber of almost 2 years I want you to know that you are our first priority, not videos. So please, take care of yourself and take all the time you need to be dealing with your issues. The best part about this career is making your own decisions and not being answerable to anyone so you do what you need to do to feel better okay, we'll be right here, right by your side. I love you so much and I wish you success, joy and happiness. Lots of love from Pakistan ❤ (ps thats a country where i cant get your shades because no retailer, quay australia included takes the pakistani credit card and ive tried so hard to get them and show you support but its still not possible, still trying though, hopefullly ill get my hands on them one day. ❤) (now if you guys see this, like it so she can see it please, thankyou xxx)

Desi it is so nice to see how natural you are. Not sure if you are aware of the impact you have on young girls (actually women of all ages) but the fact your face and lips aren't full of fillers, you are not always into dramatic makeup, contouring and false lashes is SOOOO refreshing to see! Of course people are entitled to do what they wish with their face and body but its so good to see someone who is such a big influence to so many people be a little more natural and real. Well done!! You are such an inspiration and you honestly should be really proud of yourself xoxoxoxo

For sanitary reasons I suggest using a qtip to take the concealer off of the applicator. Otherwise you're getting the bacteria from your breakout on the applicator and then putting it back into the whole tube. I was amazed how some of my breakouts stopped happening when I was more careful about contamination!

I struggled with acne for the longest time. I went to so many dermatologists and no antibiotics worked so I had to take accutane. My skin cleared for about a year but after that I started to break out again 😫 I didn't want to leave the house or show my face to anyone, it was so bad. I stopped looking in the mirror because I felt so insecure about my own face. Everytime I went out I piled on foundation and concealer and it only made it look worse. My skin is getting much better now but I still have blemishes and quite a few break outs. This was really helpful Desi, thank you so much ❤️

So powerful that Desi put this out to her followers with a message that there's nothing anyone can do when they are suffering from acne as so often people respond to acne with well-meaning but hurtful "cures", not realizing that acne is a disease that there is no easy solution for it and that even professional dermatologists can't always make it go away. I really liked her approach with this and hope viewers struggling with their self esteem as a result of acne feel empowered after learning some new tips!
@carissafleming54247 жыл бұрын
Jenny B. Yea, people and their "cures". Everybody thinks they know something. Just saw a comment saying all you need is a good diet and drink more water and your acne will be gone 🙄. SincerelyMaha What does tea tree do for the skin?
@kelceedavis53987 жыл бұрын
Allyson Gideons tea tree is a natural antibacterial!! It's so good for your skin when you have breakouts and it's even good to use on your scalp to get rid of the excess product build up! 😋
@hannahfrey22587 жыл бұрын
SincerelyMaha I love tea tree oil! But most sites will say to mix 1 part to 5 drops of water as it can be drying. My skin can handle it on its own in light amounts. It is very very strong though. If you were ever sensitive to alcohol ( which is what I used before alcohol) you may also be sensitive to this too. Don't use alcohol. Tea tree oil is very beneficial to the skin as it is also an antibacterial. I used it for cystic acne spots I get from time to time and put it on a cotton ball for 10 seconds and then put honey for 20 minutes and alternated and it was GONE the next morning

I didn’t know how much I needed this video until I watched and followed along. My skin has been problematic due to hormones fluctuating, stress, poor sleep quality and my thyroid disease and I’ve had the worst cystic acne breakouts. It’s starting to heal but I have lots of texture and scarring. Of course I didn’t have every product but luckily had the aqua bomb, tea tree oil, Charlotte Tilbury skin perfecting powder (it is as amazing as people claim to be), Mac strobe cream, Marc Jacobs dew you dew drops and benefit hoola bronzer. Seriously made all the difference! I mixed my maybelline matte and poreless 230 with the strobe cream and it still gave me a luminous, radiant finish with coverage I needed. For spot coverage I used the Kokie professional illuminating concealer in medium beige. For my under eyes I used the same kokie concealer and NARS radiant creamy concealer in Custard. For highlight I used the bare.minerals invisible glow in tan on top of the dew drops for a beautifully natural glow. For blush I used Pacifica coconut blush in Beaming (it is a natural looking peachy color). I can honestly say that using these techniques has given my skin that flawless, luminous and glow that I never thought possible with all of my acne and scarring! I am a believer and you already know I hit that subscribe button after this. 😊 Thank you for sharing your ninja skills, Desi! ❤️

im usually never open-minded enough to watch either a new beauty youtuber or 10 minutes of makeup tutorials (or both) because i tend to get bored easily, but after i saw this im like, "f*** you got yourself a like for this video". because this is exactly the issue i go through. i am 94% clear but i have some dark spots and crusty bits left over from a facial; i watched heaps of tutorials on how to perfect the no makeup makeup look and i feel confident, but when i get into it, it always gets cakey and looks really bad... until i found this video. i thank the lord i found this tutorial (or you made this video at all!) cos if i didn't i'd still make the same mistake over and over. so thank you desi, you got yourself a new subscriber

angy garzo I had that problem for the longest time too and I just started trying an enzyme exfoliator. It's seriously the best at reducing the flakiness of my skin and my breakouts. The enzymes remove only the top layer of dead skin and do not scratch or scrub too deeply into your pores.

Aw desi thank u so much for being so dang awesome and being so cool about this specific situation. I've struggled so much for the last 3 yrs with bad breakout after having two miscarriages in a row like my whole skin changed so much ;( but I'm trying to be healthier and drinking more water but it just doesn't help 😓 I wish I could afford at least half of the products you recommended because having this skin is such a insecurity for me 😢 well I love you girl you're always so helpful!
@DesiPerkins7 жыл бұрын
Perla Baltazar 😭😭😭 Girl I'm so sorry. I can only imagine how out of balance your hormones might be from the miscarriages. I'm so so sorry you're going through this difficult time 😩😥 Just try to take care of your skin first and foremost and makeup can be secondary but of course if it gets to be too much you can always come back to this tut. If you can, see a dermatologist or an endocrinologist for your acne. They'll probably be able to give you the best solution for your skin.
@perlabaltazar61907 жыл бұрын
Desi Perkins Gracias Desi ❤️ for taking the time to reply to me specially with kind words and helpful tips. I will most definitely always refer to this tut. I've already seen it like 100 times lol tbh I actually tried it with the makeup i do have and I feel it works too ❤️
@rosa99367 жыл бұрын
Perla Baltazar i wouldn't use any of these products to cover your acne. They're highly comedogenic and will exacerbate your acne and cause more breakouts. Try wearing mineral foundation (Alima Pure is a great brand that are formulated without any pure clogging ingredients) Also instead of seeing a dermatologist, try to fit be an acne specialist. Dermatologist will just prescribe toxic meds
