I used to watch Enes's videos but he NEVER says a negative thing on his house tours. Half of the properties look like scientology corporate retreats, rehab facilities, or sets for reality tv shows and it's one room after the other of WTF's but Enes never addresses the weirdness of what he's showing to people. yes while i do agree with you about some of these homes, why would he do that ? why blame him ? Have you ever seen an agent being honest about everything to his clients? and most of the time, the developer or owner of the house is present during the tour so It would be foolish on his part , he's just doing his job. The kitchens are always so unfriendly... like, nobody would ever want to be there or do anything in there but grab their bottle of sparkling water and leave. No warmth. So cold and sterile. It's more like a pharmacy counter.

I'm enjoying Arvin's critiques. Many of these things are things I noticed as a matter of taste, but I don't know anything about how to value a $10-50 million house, or what that kind of buyer expects, so that side of it is interesting to hear. I also don't expect Enes to do this because that's not the point of the content he's making, which is more promotional/a peak into properties we otherwise wouldn't be able to see so easily. He's not there to judge the properties or assess their value or price point.

That describes it perfectly; another comment said "Modern Russian Oligarch Architecture" which is pretty accurate LOL, it's just like, it has everything you expect a big modern mansion to have, but to squeeze it all in it has lots of small cramped rooms off of the main open spaces. It's the sort of thing that some sort of oligarch would buy with his ill gotten gains and come to the US to party in every winter or something. I genuinely couldn't see anyone raising a family in basically any of these SoCal catastrophe mansions.

I would LOVE for Mickey to come back as I agree: he added a human element to the videos in a way that allowed us to relate to the videos for properties that most of us can't relate too. Unfortuantely, whatever happened between Enes and Mickey must be pretty serious as neither are saying anything about it. So sad. I also agree that I struggled with the finishes in this home and I even see this with a lot of the new $2MM to $4MM homes popping up here in Atlanta. It seems like the builder is serving in the role of architect, builder, and interior decorative. There is a complete lack of creative, illogical layouts, dump placements of items like thermostats and outlets, no dynamics in the chosen fixtures, floating vanities installed in areas plumbed for floor vanities (so the plumbing is exposed), 18 wall light switched clustered together in one area, pure monochromatic designs, etc.

Enes has added a lot of staff and slowed down the video output, so finances may be tight. I assume that Enes will transition to some other type of real estate work, leveraging the popularity of the platform and I had assumed that Mikey would have been part of it. Sad.

I remember when this house first came on the market (before the whole "douche box" style was completely played out). The very first thing I thought was that a giant utility pole at your front door is not acceptable in a $200k house, never mind a $20m house. Nothing beats cooking with gas but induction is great. Heating is all done through magnets so that only what is being charged is heated. You can touch all around the stove without having to worry about burning yourself. Also if a pan is not on the cooktop you don't have to worry about leaving the stove on since there is no flame or heating element. Faster cooking times and it's a safer option for kids too.

In short, this is a 90's mall building with a tin foil hat. Is it normal to have such unfinished edges? The exposed plumbing on the exterior wall of the pool, the textured wallpapers are warped at the ends, some of the pool turf is worn, and more. I'm not sure if some of the issues are from wear and tear or just unfinished construction. My other concern is that the house is far too masculine in design. That kills a huge potential market. I wouldn't have watched this video at all. Honestly, I'm really here for your reviews. You teach so much in every video you do.

my ocd is off before we get in the door. The water feature looks like a garage door with a leaking pipe. The round skylight is out of align with the cantilever, one axis is lined up but cant you get the sky light in the centre of the cross. How does induction work? That should be easy, always pointing out the appliances and gadgets, what if a client asks the same question. "I dont know you could google it yourself?" 🤣 MAGNETS, well magnetism.

I think it’s been on the market since it was completed. It’s billed as perfect for entertaining, yet it has no motor-court and no guest parking. I can’t judge the finishes, but you can. There was a Swiss study on Induction cooking and the problem is that the energy field goes out of the pots and pans if the pot is even slightly dented. They recommended no cooking for pregnant women or the wearing of a lead-vest :) That is why aware people rather prefer gas and so do Chefs. The older you become, the less you want to be climbing stairs because your knees don’t last forever. My retired East Coast parents loved staying with me here in Ca because they didn’t have to “ do” stairs when going to bed. Secondly- fingerprints/smudges on all that glass work/counter tops and those numerous sliding glass doors- welcome to micro fine dust settling everywhere.Thirdly- good luck with your cleaning service.Definitely 8 hours of work for the cleaning service to do all those rooms/windows/shelving and floors. Fourthly- in the laundry- how many outlets does a person need within that room? It looks like a phone charging station at any airport.. Lastly undoubtedly it becomes hot in the summertime so where/what are the shade features on the roof top lounging areas? If I won that house tax free in a lottery/game show( Price is Right) , I would be depressed ( bored) within 4 hours and have to drive away to seek a taste of humanity.

I have stayed at one of these party mansion rentals for a week, and the wear and tear on things like cabinets/handles, door frames, bathrooms, and balconies is very pronounced. And often, the furniture inside is a mish-mosh of stuff they got cheap or used to stage some other house(s).

15:20 The difference between a "conventional" electric stove top and an inductive stove top is that the inductive inducts the cookware with an electromagnetic field which heats up the cookware itself, rather than heating up the stove top, which spreads the heat to the cookware. That way the inductive stove top heats up the saucepans or pots much faster. The inductive top also cools down also this way.

This is my first time seeing your channel. I appreciate the insight. One thing I have to mention is that the laundry room is terribly designed. There are several things: 1) The location is tacky - I would have wanted it away from the main path. You can see it from the living room. 2) it is ridiculously small. It's the same size as mine in my 3200 sq ft house. 3) it is missing some items I would have expected in a million(s) dollar home - sink, drying rack, lots of shelving, etc. I suspect a man designed this house. Not only is the laundry room terrible, but so are the closets and shelving terrible. I could go on and on about the primary room's closet. The lack of drawers and small shelves annoyed me. My final comment is, what is up with all those tiny sinks?? All that does is create a mess. Water will get all over the counter, mirror, and floor. Ugh

I’ve always enjoyed Enes’s videos. I’ve been a subscriber since his very beginnings. He presents every property in the best light possible because it’s his job. I don’t necessarily have to like or agree with some designers choices or lay outs and free to select what resonates with my taste and preferences. I loathe super modern but that’s not Enes’s fault, it’s my personal choice. We as viewers/followers, subscribers watch because we’re nosey & free to dream! We aren’t buyers. The majority of his viewers and subscribers can’t afford it. Who cares about all the BS fluff to decorate the presentation. The man has to present houses beautifully. We get a look. Why don’t you look at doing your own channel Arvin? There’s a place for honesty but being paid to present and review million dollar properties won’t cut it. You say the best things you can, the rest Is neither irrelevant or hidden, it’s just not disclosed information necessary for viewers. We get only the surface layer. A buyer digs deeper with their questions.

I work for a California Utility. I cannot believe that house is outside of the easement for that pole. It looks like 69 or 115kV, definitely transmission or sub-transmission level. They must have built right up to the easement line. Also, you're not supposed to landscape around or directly under it. LMAO, if they ever have an issue they will drive over or tear out all of that. Also, when it's under heavier loads like the middle of summer it will make a buzzing sound.

Had to jump into the commensts re: induction stove. Induction ranges use powerful magnetic waves for cooking, and heats & responds quicker than using a flame or regular electric stovetops. When I redid my kitchen, I bought one- no regrets.

@@blueice011 Yes, absolutely correct, that's why induction cook tops are more popular here in Germany (where I live) than any other means of cooking food, so if you would plan a new residential building, it's extremely likely that you would not even consider any other food cooking technology. The benefits are safety, convenience, energy efficiency and many people here are just used to it and expect it in a new(ish) home. So wherever you live, you should give it a try, maybe it will grow on you and you will not want anything else in the future, who knows?

@@miketackabery7521 Yes, but only if your current cookware does not already support induction cooking. Here in Germany, most cookware that has been sold in the recent(ish) past is already prepared to be used for induction cooking, since this technology is becoming more and more normal, especially in new or freshly renovated houses. So many people many not need to buy any new cookware at all, therefore it's not a problem. Also here in Germany, we try to move away from using gas as much as possible, since in the past, we were buying cheap gas from Russia, but since the war in Ukraine started, we don't want to buy any Russian gas any more, but other sources of gas are more expensive, so we try to pivot away from gas completely over time. So using induction cooking instead feels like a great option to us, without many downsides. For heating purposes, we install heat pumps more and more, so this is also a technology that is becoming more and more normal in new houses.

One thing I would say about this home is that night time view. I’ve never been to the west coast but it looks unbelievable. That’s coming from a New Yorker who grew up in New York. Pretty frightening for the market there that so many millions of dollars are currently invested in bland, poorly designed modern houses that nobody wants. Given the various taxes and people fleeing CA, this situation isn't going to improve anytime soon. So many companies ex properties listed on Loopnet having abandoned the state.

I'm not from the LA area and have only been once (and to CA a couple of times overall), but it seems to me that the highly coveted "downtown LA skyline views" are much more about status than aesthetics, because EVERY time I see it, regardless of which Hollywood Hills property, it's ALWAYS ridiculously smoggy, and far from being impressive and inspiring, it's rather depressing and deflating. It's still very cool to have a view like that, and you can still see the skyline through the smog (unlike Atlanta a lot of the time, for example), but personally, I don't see the feature as a huge built-in value, apart from the high elevation. Taste is a personal thing, but the price that's always baked in for this kind of view leaves me scratching my head.
