My grandmother has Desert Rose pattern that was in one of the booths. She has enough for each of the granddaughters to get a 4 piece place setting and serving dishes. I just recently found 12 of the plates for .50 a piece and the bowls and salad plates for .25 a piece. I love finding deals like this.

Ha, Fredericksburg is lovely, although those markets can be quite pricy. My theory is that the vendors are hoping the ladies-who-lunch have already hit a few of the wineries in town ;) You should curate your own booth in the future!

* PRO TIP* The way you did the 70% off 22 I was confused at first then I was like wait... she is doing it how we were taught in school lol I learned an easier way on my phone - you can literally type in 22 Minus sign 70 and hit the percent button. 22 - 70 % to get the answer faster!

That 8 drawer unit at 10:10- I was dying for a price! There are sooo many vintage kitchen items there that would be AMAZING wall decor- the cast iron skillets, the old food tins, the old sifters etc. Fun!!! That dough bowl would usually sell for $250+ if it's real wood!

Your big wooden bowl is a bread trough - it's for kneading bread dough so you're containing the flour and mess and not getting it all over your work top, and so that you can push the dough against the sides which makes kneading not so hard work. It could be very old because they were common when peple had to make all their own bread.

That reminds me of my grandmother. When she was a little girl her work surface was a chair. They'd put a bowl on the seat so she could knead bread. She also was the only one in town who knew how to close up the toe of handknit socks so would be excused early from school so they could make socks for soldiers in WWI.

Library book sales ( fund raisers) is how I found all my antique books- collections of Shakespeare, travel books from 1800s and early 1900s. All were a dollar. loved the red cabinet ( for all your cool jugs etc)

I grew up most of my life in The Great Smokey Mnts Tennessee.Then in early 9o's I lived in Lubbock Texas with my mom for 6yrs before she passed away. Beautiful flat land.. Welcoming people... We have one flea market here and it is horrendous, nothing but really really bad junk that sits in huge piles like a hoarders house but nothing buried worth grabbing for. I love seeing you take us to the flea market and seeing things that I love when you pan by them fast. I hope you show a lot more of your hunt for goodies!

The math teacher in me has to say this. If you want to find the price of something that is 70% off, just multiply the price by 0.3 and you’re done. If it is 70% off, that means it’s 30% on. So to speak.

That was an amazing trip I have never seen such a huge place to shop for antiques, etc. so many things I’d love to have and there were things we had growing up like the washboard my mom used to wash my diapers when we lived in England! Can you imagine? There was a child’s stove you passed by that I got from Santa in my 4th birthday. Enjoyed your adventure!!!

I work at pottery barn, we call them dough bowls! I think they’re technically make to leave your bread dough to rise, but they look amazing on media consoles and coffee tables with beads or candles in them

We call this bowl here in Panama (Latinamerica) "Batea". The countryside people use it to clean the beans and the rice. But it's a beautiful decor as well

Quick tip on how to calculate discount prices faster. 1. Subtract 100 and the percent off amount. (You can usually do this in your head) 2. Take the original price and multiply by the decimal version of the difference you got in step 1. Example: 70% off $22 100-70=30 22 x .3 = 6.60

@@fernandagurjao5712 Actually in Italy we have the word “gamella”, which refers to a large bowl/container, but this word is no longer used so often (and it is only used in the military universe to describe all the cutlery and the table set used in a ship) ☺️ so there is some connection to the brazilian word ☺️

I went to my first ever estate sale this week and I thought of you a lot. Usually I always go to just the same thrift store since that’s what we have that’s any good around here but at that estate sale I felt like a child in wonderland, honestly. Got some really amazing vintage jugs :D
