Went to spend some much needed in the woods after a year of sickness and a pretty brutal breakup. This album had just dropped and I'm driving up through the Kangamangas in the White Mountains and no shit as im cresting the top of this tall as fuck road with the mountains rolling out in front of me and on comes "So it's true I've gone to far too find you, and the thumb print scar I let define you, it was a myth I made you measure up to. It was all just water winding by you" and this is happening as I'm driving up this winding road with rivers flowing next to me. I'm about to reach the top when "You've got all you need on me, and now I see that it's all corrodiiiiing" plays and I'm just sitting there in my car like "fuck...yes. Everything's corroding/corroded and now you finally see that and you let your health make things worse with your loved ones but you're all that you need and that's all you need until you're done here." Proceeded to summit the presidentials in a weekend. This song changed my fucking life. Couldn't have come at a better time.

Fleet foxes is some real art, i think about it like Van Morrison’s Astral Weeks, I really love Crack Up and really think of it as a piece of real art but don’t want to listen to it everyday and whenever an album does that it’s really saying something
