I found this song when I was a teenager. Now I’m 32, I have children, and every once and awhile I find myself back here listening to this track. I showed it to someone I loved who passed away, I’ve lost best friends, I’ve lost family, and this song remains here. A monument. It hold such an immense weight over me, and I’ll be honest, I’d never heard the original before finding this, and can’t find the same poignance in that track in comparison to this recording. This is a song I hope is played at my own funeral. It’s seen me through so much loss, so much growth, shit, so much life in general.

Came here for a similar reason. Gen Z on TikTok is obsessed with this era of music and style and fashion at the moment….. and it feels so weird to be seeing it all over the internet again. The books I read at that age, the music…. So much is “cool” again and it’s honestly been hard to see and is making me step off the internet. Like damn….. where did the time go? A friend I used to listen to this with hasn’t talked to me in ten years despite me reaching out and asking what went wrong. A time before so many people I love died, and when I had so much hope for the future and all the adventures I’d have. It’s bittersweet to look back.

They say "this is a gift for you" in such a silly way because this was before they were famous at all and I assume they didn't realize that the fleet foxes would actually see this one day. This was in 2008 First Aid Kits first album came out in 2010

Isn't it incredible that they had this talent, charisma and confidence so young! They have come far, and still keep getting better. Survived the move to a major label with their integrity intact. They are coming to Aarhus in October. Can't wait!

First aid kits first album, "Drunken trees" came out in april 2008. Before this video, so they were absolutly not unknown in Scandinavia.
