Fleet History - Fate of KLM's Boeing 747s (Part 2)

With the recent retirement of KLM's 747 fleet, I decided to compile all info on the disposition of those aircraft into a Fleet History video. Part 2 showcases the passenger 747-400s, which were operated from 1989 until 2020. KLM still uses the freighter version as of uploading this.
Fleet History Fates is a spin-off to my Fleet History series that takes a look at the disposition of airline fleets and where each aircraft went after their retirement. It showcases details such as manufacturer number, delivery and withdrawal dates, storage locations and write-offs. I gained the inspiration for this after reading an Airliners.net thread about the fate of KLM's 747 Classics, which can be found in this link: www.airliners.....

Excellent video, I will miss KLM’s 747s dearly. I would love to see you do the same for BA’s 747s and Virgin’s 747s. KLM’s only remaining 747s are of course the freighters, PH-CKA, PH-CKB, and PH-CKC. When they are gone, it will truly be the end of an era for KLM.

Thanks! We sure miss KLM's 747s. Hopefully the freighters will stay around a little longer and keep the legacy. I'll try doing the same for BA and Virgin's 747s someday.

0:52 and 5:10 both City of Bankok 747 and City of Tokyo are showed. Funny thing is that they are in Infinite Flight. City of Tokyo has the 2015 Livery and City of Bangkok has the modern KLM livery.

Too bad PH-BFA was scrapped. Her delivery livery was quite special because she had the 1971 logo with the dark blue text. :'(

I've noticed, Only KLM paints out their logo and name on the planes they retire, no one else does this.

I noticed that too. They even rename some of the aircraft after retirement, like how PH-BFL was renamed "Robert van Bohemen" for instance.

It was the 747 used in for the outside shots during the take-off. But if you look closely inside the cockpit you will be able to find the registration-placard on the FO side says PH-BFB ;)
