Drugs or not, no one can ever come close to Stevie Nicks. She was the real deal. She didn't have to use pyrotechnics -- she just tapped into her own soul and mysticism and out came songs like these. And despite it all, she is STILL going strong. Now that's the power of a REAL artist!

Often overlooked on this classic is Buckingham's outstanding guitar playing, tone, and use of swells, which absolutely set the mood of this song.

Totally agree. Yes, Stevie is a phenomenal vocalist, but Lindsey's super technical, insanely talented licks is what, to me, makes FM stand out. Lots of bands around that time had phenomenal vocalists... Heart, Jefferson Airplane, etc, but none had Lindsey Buckingham. And let's face it, Lindsey was the stage energy and presence of FM. Gosh, look at him on stage with Chains. Dude is one of best players of this era, period.

I went to see Stevie in concert last week in Boston. What a great performance. She can still sing great and she put on a great show. Loved her performance of this song and also Rhiannon, Dreams, and lots of great songs from her new album 'In Your Dreams'. I was so thrilled to see her. She will always be the best female singer of all time to me.

Her words build a "sense" of a picture. An ambiance. Still moving the "story" forward - Christine McVie said it was difficult to understand the meaning of some of Stevie's songs - but each verse came together. From '77 - to '2013 - changes in how Stevie sings this song is marked. Mystical,...then as a more mature Spirit - determined. What she explains now to be the 'crux" of the song still rings for both ways she explained it. Lindsey is/was the object - love, hate, mix of success, loyalty, drugs, encounters on the road - almost "derailing" off the road, - but what she'll say after clearing the air with Lindsey in public is up to her. How their dynamic affected the whole is left unspoken. Great Group - talented all.

One of the best videos on youtube! Amazing audio quality, even if the video image quality is on an 1977 level. What a great find! Stevie is pushing 30 here, probably isn't completely jaded yet, and might not have succumbed to the disease she is singing about. Note how she has better vocal control than in later years, when she let her vibrato get out of hand. But, her mannerisms and moves really make her a treat to watch.

I agree 100 per cent. She is an absolute mystical fairy queen of rock and song writing. And Lynsday Buckingham such an amazing guitarist that gives something spellbinding to the music they made. They created absolute magic and nothing like i have ever heard before or since 🌙

Great video showing other clips. Love how her hair flowed on the microphone and everywhere.

She had the balls to break convention and talk about how focus is widely supported in the studio- I suppose on take 32 there's not much competition out there- and the public demands product! And yeah its a 2 way street: thank you to Ms. Nicks!

I was there. 5 minute walk from my dorm. Took it for granted as I did all the remarkable events that I experienced there.

Stevie just is. Imagine all of the drug addled drama behind the album Rumors. They all wrote songs about each other; break ups, addictions, bad behaviors, etc. What an environment! And they continued the drama for decades. Bravo!

L Willing I think smoking pot made me a better mother.. I never got loaded in front of my kids. But I made sure they had the best .. not material things but my time. Cooking family meals, homework, clean clothes I fed the whole neighbor hood. Did my bit as a team mom , foot ball , piano lessons, baseball, now my son is a teacher at his old high school and my other son has his own sports shop. Now we do share our smoke time, since I’ve got cancer they bring me pot and edibles.. it then gave me patience and love for all ..

Everyone knows the band did a lot of drugs back in those days, so what's all the fuss about? We all know drugs are bad for you, and now so do they. They were on drugs, now they are off drugs as far as we know. They lived and learned...end of story.

i think it ruined Stevie's voice . now she's all monotone, excruciating to hear live
@utbabee9 жыл бұрын
MsCordially I would say her smoking 3 packs of cigarettes a day probably was worse on her voice. She still smokes. My favorite singer of all time, but I can't see her live - her voice is totally shot. :'(
@lkingDamian9 жыл бұрын
MsCordially Excruciating is not being able to see them live, I did last week! drugs or no drugs this people are all in their 60's and 70's , what do you expect? Despite that they put on an incredible show with over 22 of their greatest hits. While Stevie's voice is not as powerful as it used to be she sang good, looked beautiful and healthy. The whole band was full of energy, Mick Fleetwood was a rocket machine and Lindsey was phenomenal in the guitar! Over all it was an amazing show, I spend over 300 dollars in ticket, shirt, poster and beers and it was worth every penny!
@lkingDamian9 жыл бұрын
Scott D While her voice is not like before she still sang pretty damn good, she looked beautiful and healthy considering the fact she is 64 years old and all the drug abuse! They are packing arenas world wide and have a loyal fan base! It all about the music and being 1 with the band, there is no need to put any of them down, They are Legends and deserve respect, nobody is perfect!
