She actually wrote that about the the guitar player standing next to her when they as a couple were about to join Fleetwood Mac...majority of their hits are about eachother..bitter sweet..their history together is fascinating to say the very least. The way he looks at her in this vid gives me chills...they spoke to eachother in the songs they wrote after breaking up...but still in a band together...to watch them on stage over the years has been addicting to watch...

Song was about her dad who was supporting her music career but she was struggling. He and she agreed that she would give it two more years then come home if it didn't work. That's why it's dedicated to her dad.

Her voice is so unique. And that song is pretty emotionally heavy, like you know she's speaking from experience, like she's had many difficult times she had to make it through and she learned to see things differently. Things are always going to keep changing, you only get to The End when you're gone. It's people that are able to be flexible and adaptable that will get through it the best. If you try to resist it or tell yourself you cant move on if something changes, your mind will just hit a brick wall, you'll stop growing, start living in the past, feeling bitter that you've lost something. We should all learn not to be surprised when change happens, accept that it will and dont try to fight it.

Fleetwood Mac (named after two of the original members, Mick Fleetwood and John McVie, pronounced McVee) formed in Britain in 1967. Christine Perfect married John McVie in 1970 and became Christine McVie. The band really hit it big in the mid-1970s when Americans (boyfriend and girlfiend) Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks ("Landslide") joined. Fleetwood Mac has so many terrific songs, especially with Christine, Stevie and Lindsey switching off lead vocals among the various tracks. My favorite FM song is "Say You Love Me" with Christine singing lead. ... Some of their other big songs are "Dreams" and "Gold Dust Woman" by Stevie; "Don't Stop (Thinking About Tomorrow)" by Christine and Lindsey; "The Chain" by Lindsey, Stevie and Christine; "I Don't Want to Know" by Stevie and Lindsey; "Go Your Own Way" by Lindsey; and "You Make Loving Fun" by Christine. Fleetwood Mac was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998, and Stevie Nicks was inducted as a solo artist into the Hall of Fame this past spring of 2019.

Sadly, she passed away suddenly 2 years ago... (her liver shut down). We loved the lyrics and melody to this song and anytime it came on the radio or MTV, we would call each other despite the 3 hour time difference. I'm now 61 old and still miss her, but I'm forever grateful that I was blessed with her as my Mom. "I been 'fraid of changin', cause I built my life around you. But time makes you bolder, children get older, I'm getting older too." Very bittersweet. 💔

Apparently, Stevie Nicks wrote this song in about an hour while in Colorado. She was a young, struggling musician & was contemplating giving up her dream of being a musician and moving back home with her parents to Arizona because she was broke. After writing this song, she got the call about joining Fleetwood Mac & the rest is history.

This song resonates because it’s about the passage of time. It’s so important to become the kind of person who gives to others. It’s so rewarding to be generous and caring. Fleetwood Mac are my FAVOURITE band of all time. Honestly, there isn't a song of theirs that I don't love. So many different incarnations of this band and each one superb in its own right. I hope you keep reacting to their songs. Stevie has some wonderful solo songs too. Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You is a really touching one of hers. Here's a few songs to check out by Fleetwood Mac (arranged roughly by era): Black Magic Woman, Future Games, Why, Dreams, Go Your Own Way, The Chain, Don't Stop, Songbird, Sara, Gypsy, Big Love, Seven Wonders, Little Lies, As Long As You Follow, Say Goodbye. A lot of this band's greatest songs came from the relationships within the group. In the Rumours era, 4 of the members were going through splits with each other... and they still had to face each other every day. The worst situation literally brought out their greatest album and it's rightfully titled considering the circumstances. The drama honestly never ended with this band (at least from the Buckingham/Nicks era). Stevie recently kicked Lindsey out of the band and he's been replaced with Neil Finn of Crowded House as vocalist.

As I stare at my clock radio in awe of what I just heard, I wished that I could hear it again. That was the day that my love affair with Fleetwood Mac began. Which has intensified over the decades, thanks to stereo, MTV, concerts and quite frankly sheer individual talent.

She dedicated it to her Father later in life but in reality it was written about her break-up with Lindsay Buckingham (the guy playing guitar with her during this performance). He was older than her and she felt she had to grow beyond their relationship in order to find her own identity. Their songs ‘Go Your Own Way’, ‘Dreams’ and ‘Secondhand News’ are their back and forth at each other during their break-up.

LindsEy Buckingham is actually a year younger than Stevie Nicks. She wrote this song in 1974 while staying at a friend's house in Aspen. To make a little money for the two of them, Lindsey had gone out on the road with the Everly Brothers, and she accepted an invitation to visit Colorado while he was away. She was sitting in this wonderful house, looking out through some big windows at the mountains, and she could see her face in the reflection of a particular window, superimposed on a mountainside. She and Lindsey had been struggling to make it in the music business for several years (this was before they were invited to join Fleetwood Mac), and she was wondering if she should stick with it or quit and go back to school. They were quite poor at the time and had experienced a recent shattering blow when their record label, Polydor, released their album "Buckingham Nicks" and then failed to support it, despite some critical acclaim. She was working as a waitress and a housekeeper while he stayed home honing his skills as a guitarist (and producer). He was also working out her poems/demos to record as songs. So Landslide is about all of that. She imagined it all up on the mantle of the fireplace in that room. She wondered if she should just take it down and go home or keep climbing up the side of the mountain. Luckily for all of us, she decided to stick with Lindsey and their music. That is the love she refers to in the song.

Stevie and Lindsey had a great love affair, even though they’re no no longer together, look at them look each other

What makes it even deeper is they wrote this song early in their career when they were young. The video is from when they were much older and could see the song from a different point of view.

She's also singing to Lindsey Buckingham. They had a tumultuous relationship for years. They were not together during this performance, but the love they still had for each other is so palatable.

No one sings this like Stevie, and Lindsey is the best on the backing guitar because he adds all of the emphasis in the right places. Song is very deep. I have followed them since the first time they joined the Fleetwoods back in the late 1960s. Mick played with a lot of people before getting to this group. When they all got together it was magic and a lot of drama.

I prefer the recorded version, but mostly because that's what I was raised with. It's in my DNA now. The live one is lovely, too.
