HUGE Stevie Nicks fan here. Been a fan since the first time I heard Stevie's voice on the Buckingham Nicks album back in 1973. After 47 years of religiously listening to Stevie and Fleetwood Mac, you've given me a whole new refreshing appreciation and love for her music and more importantly, her voice. That was not only enlightening but really fun to watch. Thank you! Would love to hear what you think of her younger (& higher) voice singing Landslide from 1975.

This recording is a song all its own. Stevie's voice is so different than it was when they first recorded this that it doesn't even feel like the same song. I got to see her perform this in Dublin last year. Every phone was away, every couple was hugging, it was a beautiful moment. But even that felt different from listening to this recording. This is without exception the greatest musical recording I have ever heard in my life. This is the song that taught me how good a live performance can be. This is a feeling no one can ever take away from you.

A beautiful moment between Stevie and Lindsey who have had their beautiful moments and very rocky moments over the decades. I saw an interview where Stevie said she wrote this before Fleetwood Mac when she and Lindsey were the duo Buckingham Nicks and they had been dropped from their record label. She was visiting Colorado contemplating going back to study at San Jose St. University and looking out at all the mountains all she could think about were landslides and how a landslide had come down on their career. Then she began writing the song.

Her voice sounds dramatically different with age and vocal technique in later versions (post 2008). You can definitely hear her vocal limits, but better technique... I've been a Fleetwood Mac/Stevie fan since the 70s. I think that comfort you feel in her lower ranges isn't only the technique - this is the voice of a woman who's experienced a lot of life, and conveys it through her music. I remember hearing her do this live in the 70s. It was beautiful then. It was a young woman, singing next to her lover, speaking of how that feels THEN in her life. And now, 40+ years later, she's standing next to the same man, who is "only" a friend now. Singing "cause I've built my whole world round you" is retrospective. And the voice she has now? Is a PERFECT complement. I adore Stevie. I can't sing like her - my voice has taken hits over the years too and it's never been like hers. But this song can move me to tears.

EVERYONE who adores her (from me & millions of fans) from Florence, Natalie Mains, Harry Styles, Shakira, The Corrs, Sheryl Crow, Lorde, Dave Grohl, Beyonce, Adele, Lana Del Rey, Miley, Kylie Minogue, etc, etc, etc, hear & see why she's always had that star quality. Stevie Nicks has the sexiest female vocal tone still to this day and I don't think anyone will come close anytime soon.

There is only one Stevie Nicks. Her voice is the voice of Fleetwood Mac to me. My parents would play this music on the 8-track (yes 8-track) player in the burgundy colored Lincoln Town Car we had in the late 70s. This music is the soundtrack of every road trip we made between Texas and California when I was a little kid.

You should listen to Stevie Nick's : Smile at You (angry version) , Rhiannon (live 70's), Beauty & the Beast (live at Red Rocks), Dreams (70's), The Chain (70's) you are listening to her when she is much older, listen to her sing Silent Night too... Gold Dust Woman (70's), & Sisters of the Moon (live) then you have heard her in her glory! Freedom of speech & press USA

Anyone embarrassed by getting choked up during this song: quit being silly. No one can get past "...cause I built my life around you..." without sobbing!

I took my love, I took it down I climbed a mountain and I turned around And I saw my reflection in the snow-covered hills 'Til the landslide brought me down Oh, mirror in the sky What is love? Can the child within my heart rise above? Can I sail through the changin' ocean tides? Can I handle the seasons of my life? Well, I've been afraid of changin' 'Cause I've built my life around you But time makes you bolder Even children get older And I'm getting older too Well, I've been afraid of changin' 'Cause I've built my life around you But time makes you bolder Even children get older And I'm getting older too Oh! I'm getting older too Oh-oh, take my love, take it down Oh-oh, climb a mountain and you turn around And if you see my reflection in the snow-covered hills Well, the landslide bring it down And if you see my reflection in the snow-covered hills Well, the landslide bring it down Oh-ohh, the landslide bring it down
