This was Stevie Nick's fathers favorite song! Later on she would say at a live show, as a tribute to her father, " this one is for you Daddy!

That's exactly right! She was raised in Colorado and this was a gift she had written for her father when she was 15 years old. Great Song! Whenever she sings this song she always says, "this is for you daddy".

Stevie and Lynsey Buckingham started as a duo and released Buckingham/Nicks in the early 70s. Mick Fleetwood overheard Lynsey playing in the studio from the next one over and needed a guitar player. Lynsey said he would join Fleetwood Mac if Stevie could come to. Mick reluctantly agreed, not wanting a couple to join, but after hearing them, he could not pass them up. Stevie is now the queen of rock. She melted my heart when I was a young boy and still melts me every time I hear that voice.

This was her making the choice to continuing with her choice to continue singing. Her parents had told her she could stop the singing with Lindsey and they’d pay for her to go back to college. Her decision was to not be a child and stick with it. The words to this song resonate differently with everyone, which is why it’s a great song. I’m not sure if it was released as a single as an album cut. It grew through FM radio wanting to hear deeper cuts from “the chick” who sang Rhiannon.

You have to check out the history of Fleetwood Mac. Their album "Rumours" is a classic and has incredible songs. It is about 2 break ups within the group. @ciri19933 жыл бұрын
It was written in 1973 at a point where Lindsey [Buckingham] and I had driven to Aspen for him to rehearse for two weeks with Don Everly. Lindsey was going to take Phil’s place. So they rehearsed and left, and I made a choice to stay in Aspen. I figured I’d stay there and one of my girlfriends was there. We stayed there for almost three months while Lindsey was on the road, and this is right after the Buckingham Nicks record had been dropped. And it was horrifying to Lindsey and I because we had a taste of the big time, we recorded in a big studio, we met famous people, we made what we consider to be a brilliant record and nobody liked it (laughs). I had been a waitress and a cleaning lady, and I didn’t mind any of this. I was perfectly delighted to work and support us so that Lindsey could produce and work and fix our songs and make our music. But I had gotten to a point where it was like, “I’m not happy. I am tired. But I don’t know if we can do any better than this. If nobody likes this, then what are we going to do?” So during that two months I made a decision to continue. “Landslide” was the decision. [Sings] “When you see my reflection in the snow-covered hills”-it’s the only time in my life that I’ve lived in the snow. But looking up at those Rocky Mountains and going, “Okay, we can do it. I’m sure we can do it.” In one of my journal entries, it says, “I took Lindsey and said, We’re going to the top!” And that’s what we did. Within a year, Mick Fleetwood called us, and we were in Fleetwood Mac making $800 a week apiece (laughs). Washing $100 bills through the laundry. It was hysterical. It was like we were rich overnight

Yes, this song is about her and Lindsey (the guitarist .. the 1 playing the music you hear), their failing relationship and her trying to decide if she wanted to continue her career in music with him. However, it has nothing to do with losing your appeal. She screwed up their relationship and she had time to think about it while in Aspen Colorado, looking up at the mountains. She WAS thinking though, "I am getting older, so do I want to go on doing this, or should I find something else to do with my life ???".
