@@Labyrinth1010 - It would appear Mick has re-connected with Lindsey. Now it’s up to Mick to smooth the way for Stevie to accept perhaps touring with Lindsey for a final FM farewell tour. Considering both Stevie and Lindsey have sold their music publishing rights to other entities....it would appear touring is all that is left. Now, there is still the prospect of a collaboration with Stevie & Lindsey in 2023, as that will mark the 50th Anniversary of Buckingham/Nicks which has never been re-released, mastered, or digitalized. But again, there has been talk about a B/N re-issue and tour before (last talks about it was in 2013). Interesting...that Stevie is in possession of the original master tapes...and it’s not clear whether or not the music rights for B/N was sold. Stevie only relinquished 80% of her music catalog. So, there is hope but like anything else time will tell.
@Labyrinth10103 жыл бұрын
@@stannis768 more musicians selling their publishing, eh? I can’t remember why they’re doing this. Seems like that’s one of the most valuable things a musician has. I guess they need the money? After I replied to your comment, I came across an article detailing Lindsay’s mistreatment of Stevie time and again throughout the years. It’s quite possible she is simply done with him, understandably. It would also explain why the band sided with her (at least some of this mistreatment was in the presence of the band). You might be very well me right and they will never play together again. You tend to put up with less and less crap as you get older. Having said that, Covid has had a way of shifting people’s priorities and perspectives.

@@MariCornell the rest of the band finally came out and said that he was abusive. He tried to choke her one night in front of all of them on the hood of a car, then they had a huge blow out at McVie's house and at least once on stage after fighting behind the scenes, Buckingham went over and either kicked or tried to kick Stevie while they were playing. Stevie has always been quiet, the whole band was, and so who knows what else happened. Plus Stevie did not want to get naked for their album and he called her a child and she did it because he wanted her to do it or, what was the alternative? Her watching him blow up and yell? It was an album...they were to be naked...she did it but didn't want to. He knew she did not want to and did not care, else he would have said "My GF is not ok getting naked, can she use a scarf or something??". And while they were not in a band and just doing their own thing, he never had a job. He stayed home all day and played guitar, or as Stevie later said, mostly got high, and she worked as a waitress and did another job cleaning rooms to support him...getting high. Because she was obviously at that point co dependent.

Uh no...Stevie and Don "womanizer" Henley started dating right after Stevie broke up with Lindsey (late 1976 early 1977). Her relationship with Don ended pretty quickly, after Stevie caught Don in bed with Cher's sister (who was a model at the time). There is a lesser known song by Stevie called "Smile At You," which never made it on the Tusk album (1979) because Lindsey believed it was to "angry" of a song. That song details Stevie's feeling about Henley, after being caught "in the act." The song was written around late 1977 /early 1978.
@nancy_toneyposhmark97013 жыл бұрын
Her voice changed but her wails raise the hair on your head. She has a rough sounding voice after getting older. It could be that her singing also messed up her chords. She was not a professional singer when she started, she didn't have someone to coach her on how to keep her vocal chords in great shape. She just...sang. Plus, she was extremely young at first, she's quite a bit older there, but they were ALL on about the same amount of cocaine. It could have been the benzo's that were messing with her...she kind of did both.
@nancy_toneyposhmark97013 жыл бұрын
@@stannis768 she also got pregnant by Don and Don wanted her to get an abortion. I suppose she wanted one too but who knows. She actually had a track record of jumping in bed with a few men, nobody makes it hugely known and she is always so covered up and mysterious she doesn't give off that vibe. But I think when she broke up and got out of that abusive situation with Lindsey, she used drugs and different men to soothe that. And it never worked for her. Plus, if you are with one abuser, and you jump to another guy, he's probably an abuser too. She did sleep with Mick, should have stayed with him, he's actually a nice guy. Some people say she had a thing with Tom Petty. They say they were just really good friends but...come on. I say she also slept with Tom and that is sad because Tom was with someone else and again, Stevie was getting used.

The 80s was a trial and challenge for the early 70s - early 80s era bands. That decade was so explosive with new forms of pop music, and new mediums like video, it was hard to keep up and adapt their style to it. I think the only ones to come out of it on top was Fleetwood Mac (Tango in the Night), Pink Floyd (Dark Side of the Moon), Queen, Cheap Trick (Lap of Luxury) and Bad Company (Howe era), Kiss and Aerosmith. I mean after circa 1983 they were an Endangered Species. Toto after Africa in 83 kinda disappeared. Starship was a soundtrack band. Kudos to Lindsey for literally taking the band under his wing for the making of Tango. Took a toll on him. Without it they would have vanished and not gotten that Second Wind going into the early 90s, then another pause and the reunion tour in 97.
