What an immensely complicated, talented, somewhat haunted individual. As a guitar player myself, I respect so much of the work that Lindsey has done. His fingerpicking is truly amazing. He’s an icon and possibly more importantly, a true artist.

Lindsey Buckingham is one of the Best guitarist, singer, song writer and poets in the music industry. He completely oozes with Soul…He does this effortlessly and his music touches your heart. Love him standing on his own or with Fleetwood Mac. To me…there is no Fleetwood Mac without Lindsey Buckingham. Each and every artist made it work. It had to be all of them Together…or nothing. The dynamic duo of Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham was the glue that made it all come together. The two of them together were so unique and created a sound like no other. Nobody could even come close to trying to create the harmonies they share with each other….Nobody! Im glad they remain friends to this day and I wish the band could have never stopped playing. I am so thankful I grew up listening to their music all my life , and even to this day. Fleetwood Mac is a Legend and their music and song lyrics will be forever etched in my soul.

My most favorite performance of Lindsey ever is Lindsey Buckingham Center Stage 1992 extended cut. He was completely without the "Chain" and was so damn brilliant! Even included his version of a Kingston Trio song. He is the only lead guitar player that I can listen to as they get completely wrapped up in playing an extended solo, without getting irritated. He just has that ear, talent, perfectionism, etc that makes his sound so edge of your seat, yet pleasant. Loved this in-depth interview. Lindsey still has that adorable youthful cry in his singing voice. Lindsey, you will never never ever become out of date.

@@4Mr.Crowley2 - Really? Stevie hates Lindsey's guts. She treated him horribly and got him kicked out of Fleetwood Mac, simply because he smiled at something she said in public - at worst, this was a bit of silent sarcasm on his part. @Raymond Reid I've commented often on this and the fact remains that for many decades Fleetwood Mac, when Lindsey was in the band, hired guitarists, a keyboard player, a percussionist and several backing singers while performing live. The days of the 'classic five' playing together on stage with no outside help is LONG ago. They've had hired hands in the shadows and behind the curtains for many, many years. If you think Lindsey did ALL the guitar parts in FM shows post Tusk era, you are mistaken.

This was a beautiful experience. He is supremely gifted, artistic, creative, sensitive and came across as deeply committed to the power of music 🎵 to connect to people and be meaningful in their lives. It was so lovely to here that his greatest accomplishment is being a dad. A rare talent. I came to fleetwood mac via stevie nicks solo 1985 album 💿 Rock A Little. Then went through her back catalogue and then fleetwood mac’s. I really enjoyed learning from him about his creative processes, as well of course seeing him perform excerpts from his own work. The interviewer was great 👍 and so lovely 😊 to see the rapture and joy he brought to the audience of young musicians and producers. I thought also that he was honest from his points of view of things not only about the band but also Stevie Nicks and that he was respectful of her awesome 👏 talent. To say she is ego driven and not an amazing songwriter like some of the comments here is rubbish. Nicks is incredibly talented and a portent performer on stage as well. As Lindsey Buckingham implied her creative process is the inverse of his. That is different to his does not take away from her talent. Come on her solo career is huge 11 solo albums . All of the band members of Fleetwood Mac are incredibly talented artists / musicians. Their music catalogue and legacy both as a band and as solo artists speak for itself. Buckinham is one of the world’s greatest contemporary guitarists and a gifted producer and arranger. Mick Fleetwood is a demon on drums and percussion. John Mcveigh a fabulous bass guitarist. Christine Perfect likewise is a brilliant song writer in the pop genre and incredible pianist and keyboardist. Stevie Nicks writes soulful powerful and image and emotionally evocative lyrics and poetry, has a voice like no other on the planet, and also plays piano and keyboards. You know together and apart they are great.

I'm a new Fleetwood Mac fan, and this was so enjoyable to watch. Especially whenever Lindsey plays. Didn't think he would start singing during The Chain. So cool.

This was a great interview (which I think was posted as being broadcast sometime back in 2013). What an amazingly talented singer and guitarist! If Fleetwood Mac ever does a farewell tour, it would be great to see Lindsey rejoin the band. But there's always his solo work.

So interesting his info on the difference in how he composed songs and how Nicks did it: she starts with the words (like a poet) and will stash it away; he begins with the music and supplies the words later. Both producing timeless gems.

This was just an absolute pleasure to get to hear Lindsey's take on all that has gone on through the years. I LOVED Tusk when it came out and always will! Fleetwood Mac was lucky to get him and Stevie was lucky that he wouldn't go without her! I think he was really dealt a dirty hand when he was kicked out of the band because of a supposed eye roll when Mick and Christine were waltzing which was much more of a dig at Stevie's long-winded acceptance speeches. Apparently, it was a thing or it wouldn't have been made fun of at all. Don't get me wrong, because I love Stevie Nicks as much as I love the entire band as a whole. She has gotten me through so many of the desperate times in my life as well as the good and I thank her for that. I just don't believe it was fair to insist either he goes or she does, after everything that happened. Just one woman's opinion. Thank you so much for this wonderful interview!

In 1967 as an Am. grad student at Oxford., also more of a folk singer, influenced by Melody Maker Mag.. of what's going on, I attended the last day of the" Windsor Pop Fest". The Big Tree would wind it up...Peter Green first appearance after forming Fleetwood Mac ;Jeff Beck and his ensemble, and closed out with first Appearance of Eric Clapton with his just formed group Cream. As life would have it gave up the guitar off and on...I picked up the guitar again while in Thailand while writing my 6th Screenplay "Its only Rock N Roll"...Very motivated. .bought an Accoustic Electrical, When Covid hit one airport after another lugging my guitar,. It's an expensive guitar,..but several times thought of throwing it in one ocean or another.. Heading back to Thailand in two months.. by accident, trying to get back playing, I do know a lot but lack of playing., At almost 80 now ran into tutorial how to plaY..."You can Go your Own way?... The willingness to play came back...What I'm trying to Say is the reason 45 million copies of Rumours sold...The Spiritual impact of this song transmitted to millions of people.. THAT's why so special and so successful, The Oxford Philosopher in me, the writer in me, the Architect in me suggests creativity comes from God and this is our gift to mankind, sharing the gift...We don't play for ourselves but for others... it inspires others...The creativity is not for satisfaction of self but for others... At 80 Years lug my guitar through more airlines.. but lighter now.and I have 2 months to practice so I can play it for my girlfriend in Thailand whom I haven't seen in two years....and maybe even play it there on Sunday Street day in a little seacoast Town in Thailand with a few of the other musicians,, Only if I'm good enough to entertain any more.. Thanks for the interview tosthenavigator.com

Enjoyed this immensely. Don't know how I missed it. Love his music and creativity as well as his approach. It's about moving forward with the music - not doing the same. He doesn't want to stick with an oldies tour. That being said - the latest Fleetwood Mac incarnation should be called Stevie Nick's Fleetwood Mac. LOL.

He truly did change the course of musical history when he and Stevie joined FWM. Magic was created and we the fans and the world of music are the ones who benefited! ❤❤PS. How he answers the question regarding his relationship with Stevie is PRECIOUS. It felt so honest and heartfelt. It is clear that they will always have a very strong bond… 💞
