This is a revamped 1997 (25th anniversary) recorded live version of the song: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oXO8eap-ZruVY8U No need for capo! Dropped D tuning to give a highly resonant and sustaining D note drone. Mcvie’s bass and Buckingham’s guitar working beautifully together. Sounds better in Dmin than Emin👆Longer string length gives more sustain.

Just been jamming with a friend. He went home and suddenly this song found its way into my mind. I had spoken about how i learned to play through Marty Schwartz videos so….. Here we go! It was 10 years ago when I first watched a video by our fav Marty. Then now it’s been at least 5 since I’ve had to since. I’m back watching, learning and enjoying. Totally one of the most admirable men! 🎉 here’s to Marty Schwartz🎉❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Again thank you. I hope All is well with you and your family. Please give my love to everyone, wife, kids, sister and brothers Mom and Dad. Great seeing your success. Keep on Rockin and I’ll keep on following.

He could try to tell how he is doing it but really finger picking is totally learned and comes down to "feel". There's lessons on "Travis Picking" (Buckingham actually learned Travis Picking almost from the first day he picked up a Guitar, and cannot use a pick to save himself, according to him) on You Tube and I would recommend you watch one of Justin Johnsons lessons he is the modern day maestro.
@charlieprichard6844
@charlieprichard6844 3 жыл бұрын
@@johnh9200 I know what you mean, but I feel like if someone makes a tutorial for a song and then does a cover of what they’re gonna teach you in the beginning, they should show you exactly how they play it rather than just sort of describing it to you and pretty much making you just figure it out yourself. Most of the time as well, it literally wouldn’t even have taken long to go over the right hand a bit more
@trevorlahey4201
@trevorlahey4201 3 жыл бұрын
@@charlieprichard6844 It’s probably best to learn these finger picking patterns prior to attempting to learning songs that utilize them. Once you have the basic patterns down you can learn something like this in a few minutes
@charlieprichard6844
@charlieprichard6844 3 жыл бұрын
@@trevorlahey4201 Yeah, I mean I didn’t have any massive difficulty learning this song because I could watch him play it and listen to how it should sound and figure it out but I just feel like if you’re making a tutorial for how to play a song, just explain how to do it. Like it’s not a tricky picking pattern so I don’t see why he can’t explain it in detail

Years ago, I heard from one of their roadies that Danny Kinwan would take the {light gauge} high-octave strings from a 12-string guitar & string a 6-string guitar with them. Apparently, that's how he got the twangy sound for this song & Gold Dust Woman. I haven't had the time to try it yet, but it makes sense. Great Lesson!
