Tony, "FlemingYachts" what an enthralling and evocative series of videos: Thank you for sharing them. This one is particularly fascinating for me as in 1989 with three friends (two sadly now departed) I spent a week at Kinauchdracht, the most northerly farmstead on Jura,. some long and bumpy miles of cart track beyond Ardlussa, the end of the metalled single-track road on your video, and only a short walk across the turf moor to the cliffs above the Corryvreckan, through which we sailed aboard our host's powerful work boat before exploring the uninhabited island of Scarba. (On another occasion I was aboard the World's last sea-going paddle steamer, the "Waverley". when she passed through out of Oban). We walked over much of the northern part of Jura, and although we paid homage to George Orwell at Barnhill, sadly did not visit the bothy at Glegarrisdale, though we spent some time on the white sand beach of the beautiful bay just around the headland from Corryvreckan where you anchored The Isle ofJura was the hunting preserve of the Kings of the ancient Scots realm of Dalriada, which before the coming of the Norsemen encompassed much of the Hebridean Islands, and parts of the West of Scotland, as well as areas of what is now Ulster, across the Irish Sea. Their Coronation place, the hill-fort of Dunadd is just across the strait from Jura, on the mainland near the head of Loch Crinan. On Jura, as well as deer, there are herds of feral goats. The paler-coloured ones in the southern part of the island reputedly being descended from the Norsemen's Saarnen herds, while the shaggy black Iberian strain found in the north are, according to myth and legend, the descendants of those kept aboard ships of the doomed Spanish Armada, which came ashore on Jura. They're certainly fierce-looking when you encounter a devilish-looking horned and bearded black face peering at you over the crest of a ridge when you're exploring the cliffs! Loch Tarbert where you anchored is named after the Norse word for a "portage", where they could haul out their longships and slide them on wooden logs across a narrow neck of land. Some may have been permanent as archaeologists have found traces of ancient timber at some of the many similarly-named sites around Scotland. The views of Craighouse brought back memories. When we arrived, the Jura Marathon was taking place there (actually more of a Fell-Race as it took in the Paps of Jura in its course). This was sponsored by the Jura Distillery, which we visited on another occasion. I've made numerous distillery visits around Scotland over the years, but none of the others turned into a Ceilidh, as did this one. I'm amazed our host was able to pilot the Land Rover back up the island afterwards!. Your video, together with the occasional dram of Jura Single Malt, brings back many recollections. Thank you again.

Your voice lends very well to narration if you ever need a second gig I would Venture to say you could fill in foe Morgan Freeman or Mike Rowe. On that note your video are well done and you make one feel like hes on the journey with You.

That's where he and his 10 siblings were born and brought up. He finished up being a professor at Edinburgh university.
