He fumbled a lot for the Niners, that's why he got the boot. I'm a Duck/Niner fan so I got amped when they drafted him. I was concerned about his size though. His contemporary, Jaquizz Rodgers from OR State, was 2" shorter but about 15 lbs heavier, so he was built to take pro hits.

I went to Oregon State but by then I had been a Ducks fan for almost 15 years, I was a second year transfer to OSU and graduated in 2 years, 2 terms so I was barely there frankly lol. I live in Vegas now so it’s even rarer to see Ducks / Niners combo but my entire family (my uncles here, my dad, my cousins, etc.) are die hard Ducks and so is my dad’s office so I just grew up in that atmosphere. And watching Joe Montana / Steve Young. I always wondered why LaMichael James didn’t make it big because I remember also being excited when we drafted him! From my college team to my pro team, what could be better?! I admit I’m OSU with baseball because the Ducks didn’t even have a team at the time, and watching OSU win 3 titles has been awesome so I always root for my Yankees to draft OSU players… but Elsbury dampened things.

Let me say that most of these players have talent but only are limited to speed and making ppl miss in college it works but in NFL u have to atleast have some size power ability to break tackles one trick ponyes most times don't work on weakness they work on the same stuff. Ex Reggie Bush was able to be SUCCESSFUL because he worked on getting that nfl power that's needed to make cuts ppl miss regularly and break tackles.

Lamichael James Went to TexArkana Liberty Eylue HS in Texas. We played them in the 3A state championship. Waco Robinson my HS lost that game 35-34 on a failed 2 point conversion as time expired . We fumbled the ball 3 times and still nearly won it was heart breaking. First team all year to have any success against Lamichael. He had a great first half nearly 100yrds. But finished with just 129 on 16 carries as we shut him down in 2nd half
