Fleur DeForce I had some really bright, opaque, creamy eyeshadow pencils I used to use - my favourite combo was aqua on the inner part of the eyelid and royal blue on the outer part, no blending whatsoever, no mascara - I have no memory of where I got the idea or why I thought it was a good one but this was my go-to look for several months when I was 15-16... thankfully it was before the advent of camera phones!

It was not that bad. Lucky you though, you were ablw to sneak the hair streaks. I got reprimanded by my natural hair color at school at 3rd year which was annoying. My natural hair color is brown and they thought I dyed it. Makeup.... Just a chapstick and blotting papers for me. Never really went all out till college but those two will always be a staple to me.

Those teenage make-up videos bring so many merories from school, I feel like watching "Mean Girls" again! Your make-up actually looked pretty fine ^^ and omg those layers and layers of mascara was really a thing!

Omigosh you were much cooler than I! My mom sold makeup for Shaklee and went through a course to teach makeup application, so when she started allowing me to wear makeup in 7th grade it was powder, lipgloss and clear mascara. Then later in 9th grade added a light foundation (only to be used where it was needed and applied with a damp makeup wedge to sheer it out even more), a light colored blush, a champagne eyeshadow and a brown mascara. And then in my last two years when I had a job and could buy my own makeup she allowed eyeliner and eyeshadow in any shade I wanted. Typically it was a light blue, taupe or charcoal grey. I also wore darker shades of lip gloss and tried out lipsticks more. Funny how these videos of other people's makeup back in the day pulls your memories back too!

Loved this Fleur! I'm 36 but still used all the same makeup around the same year that you did! I had touché eclat which I thought was a concealer too, didn't wear any foundation but really really fake tanned and used bright pink blusher! I had those two lipglosses too!! I know I struggled with money because my mother didn't work because of her severe depression and I don't have a father, so we were really struggling, although my love for all things pretty (makeup, clothes) didn't die there, it actually got bigger with each year, and now I'm studying cosmetology to know all about cosmetics :) well, not all, but so many many things! I guess you never know where you'll end up in your life... that's kind of the point of my comment lol hope you're having a great day btw!

Samanta Rizzi true, that too. At least what I really like from Fleur, is that despite coming from a rather privileged background, she realizes that her situation is better than most. My mom was a single mom too, she did work though, but as a single mother of two, we never had money for high end items. To be honest, as a teen I wasn't that into makeup. And it wasn't as big under youths when I grew up (80s/90s) in the Netherlands.

Sechari Oh, I don't mind Fleur buying expensive things, I mean if she has the money and she likes them - why not? :) I was just saying that with cheap makeup products you can't actually achieve a really nice makeup, especially when you don't know all the right techniques. I love high end makeup myself, and only recently started buying it, because I started working. I'm not jealous of her, I think she deserves everything she has, just because she's such a nice person.

Samanta Rizzi no, I wasn't trying to accuse you of being jealous or anything, I just didn't think the amount of money she spent on her make up during high school seemed out of reach for most people. My sister is 15 turning 16 in 2 months, and most of her friends only have drugstore make up - but they have a lot of it! Most of the girls probably spend something like 100$ a year on make up. It simply didn't seem to me like Fleur spent more than that at all.

I think it's so funny that you couldn't find a lot of the things you used to wear when these videos came out I started looking to see if they still made the makeup I wore and they don't make most of it. I'm 26 and I remember high school being all about the eye liner and looking more tan, I actually didn't understand how to use bronzer so I just used a powder that was too dark and orangey lol

Fleur you look exactly the same as you did back in school, you haven't aged a bit!!! Still as beautiful as ever!!! I only started wearing makeup properly when I was 15, but would experiment with my mum's Avon lipsticks when I was 11!! There was no way I could afford high end products when I was a teenager, so I used to buy Rimmel makeup as it was affordable back then!! It was only when I was older I was able to splash out a bit more and treat myself!!

I did exactly the same!!!! Touch Eclat and Hula!! I didn't wear mascara but I would fake tan with my mum's Elemis tanner! I loved Barry M Dazzle Dust! I had it in a Lilac/Silver and applied it with my finger as well! I used to groom my brows with Body Shop clear mascara and line the waterline of my eyes with Mac black eyeliner. Sometimes I used to do a turquoise green along my lash line as well! Only if I wasn't wearing Dazzle Dust, obviously!! Hahaha!

I pestered my dad to always buy me makeup from duty free as he travelled a lot so I had loads of those travel sets of Lancôme and YSL minis. Juicy Tubes Lychee was my JAM man! My 80s teenage look was all about more - big hair (naturally super-curly but got a spiral perm for extra oomph...madness!), nude eye palette heavily applied so not so nude, cake mascara that you put on with a teeny-tiny toothbrush, and the compulsory lip gloss that smelt strongly of either mint or strawberry.
