I just used my worx sharp for my latest build 2 days ago, before seeing this. It made one of the more tedious parts of rod building very fast. One tip that was given to me by an old rod builder in SW Florida is soaking the bottles of epoxy and hardener in warm water for a few minutes just before mixing. It reduced the viscosity of the mix so it mixes very evenly, with few bubbles, and then the threads really soak up the epoxy, especially on the first coat.

Another tip for the loop, spectra and light braded lines are tough to grip and sometimes to find. If you put a bead like the ones in a piece for key chain attach it to the loop. It gives you something to hold and if you attach a magnet to your supports it will hang your loop there instead of losing it on the table top or maybe on the carpet.

Best tip? PowerPro to finish wraps. I’ve had enough with inflexible nylon/ fluoro, hard to see, too thin and it breaks.

Sure is pricey - is there any way to buy less than 150 yds of it?
@tornagawn Жыл бұрын
@@davidwood1600No, but 150 yds of lightweight will last a lifetime.

Amazon has 10 lb test PowerPro slick for $5 less than the 15 lb - that's a significant savings to me and I imagine it will work just as well - do you think that is strong enough?
