I wrote text notes for myself because the video is difficult to follow when you are doing the moves. 1) Neck hold (10sec each side): back, front with hands, look left/right, sides with hand 2) Rotate around to both directions 3) Hold arm below chin to opposite side (lock with other hand) for 30sec 4) Same thing but tighter (grab behind your neck with the locking hand) 5) Move your wrist behind your head fingers pointing down (hold elbow with other hand) 30sec 6) Same thing but extend the movement (hold from biceps with the other hand) 30sec 7) Rotate both hands full circle of movement at the same time, 10x forward & backwards 8) "Table"-stance, hands and legs on the ground extended, belly up straight, 30sec or 10x up&down 9) Knees on the ground, butt upwards, face&hands on the ground, 30sec or 10x up&down 10) On all fours, fingers pointing sideways, move torso sideways 5x each side and hold there for 2-3s 11) Legs and pelvis on the ground, held your head up & watch the sky, having hands extended in front of you, hold 1min 12) On all fours, arch you belly&chest up & down, 5x 13) Sit, knees in 90-angle, hold your feet with your hands, your body between your knees, hold 30sec 14) Sit in shape of L, legs connected on the ground, grab your hands as far from your legs you can, hold 1min 15) Squat as deeps as you can, legs wide apart, shoulders between your knees, hold 1min 16) Stand legs wide apart, bend your fingers/hands/elbows down to the ground, play with different variations 1min 17) Swivel Hips, sit on ground legs on 90-degree angle, swing knees to the ground on both side, 10x reps 18) Pike progression, stand legs together, told hands on the ground, extend/flex knees one at time & together, 1min 19) On your knees, stretch your hands on the ground in all 4 directions, 20sec/each

I recently stumbled onto your channel and did the stretches in this routine, and I can say that it's a workout onto itself. One of the problems I had with the ones where my feet were on the ground in a sitting position is that my feet always slip, so trying to keep my feet from slipping when I tried those was even more of a challenge. I probably like the shoulder and hamstring stretches the best. I've always had a problem with tight hamstrings, especially the right hamstring, so I figure these will help that quite a bit. I also know that when my shoulders are fully stretched out, I can bring my arms over my head from one side to the other without letting go of my hands, and find that fun to do.
@sidpaulson17 жыл бұрын
Yes that can sometimes be a problem, just need to find an anchor for the feet or a better surface to do them on. Happy you enjoyed the routine, please check out some of my newer flexibility videos too! :)

I've seen them, and your flexibility is top notch, which it has to be for someone in your line of work.

Love this but sad you didn't include any hip flexor or gluteal stretches.
@MrAlimtc10056 жыл бұрын
Amazing video, keep it up! And a question, how many times do you repeat that drill? I often hear that each stretch exercise should be repeated twice for Max effectiveness.
@sidpaulson16 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much :) I like to do 2-3 sets per exercise, depending on which exercise and how poor my flexibility is in that particular skill!
@MrAlimtc10056 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the answer! :D

Thanks for this great video Sid. Pardon a question: for those who are still far from reaching the pike (chest to leg), is it better to touch chest with 1 leg bent (and work on straightening the leg), or work on pushing the chest to straight legs (maybe with a weight that forces you extend more) ?
@sidpaulson16 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching Francesco! It would depend on how flexible you are. Just make sure the leg/legs (one or both legs) are completely straight when you work on your pike. It’s a bad habit to bend the legs, and reduces the effectiveness of the stretch! :) Using weighted stretches are very good!!

This video of this man is a classic example of how appearances can be deceiving. If you saw this man in public, you'd swear he'd never exercised in his life. There is little apparent muscle development and tone, but clearly he's got the stuff. I'm not sure if this illustrates something rotten about youtube and life or not, but I suspect...rotten.
