One thing to keep in mind, because it can affect how you perceive certain events, is that virtually everyone in the series older than their teens has lived through WW2. An awful lot of things that are concepts to us are memories to them.

I think this is a critical point, as well since the devastation and loss from the last war shapes their present selves. As we'll see in part two of season one a particular character was deeply affected by the war. This series does a remarkable job of placing the viewer back in that time of paranoia and propaganda.

The older characters went through "WW1" and "WW2", the countries are deliberate expies for Germany and the West, the cold war is fully on. The only real difference that could matter is that the Soviet Union doesn't appear to be in control of Ostania.

It's not one-to-one and it doesn't have to be even though there are similarities. However, I believe understanding real world history gives the show better perspective.

2:50 to clarify, we don't know precisely how old Anya is, as there is no record of her birth available. Twilight simply guessed she was 4 or 5, but more recently the manga's author has stated Anya is "around 5." A lot of fans though like to repeat the "she's 4" idea for some reason.

Oh..makes sense. When I read the manga, I clearly remember that Anya's actual age was unknown during her intro. I thought that her being 4 was mentioned somewhere else since everyone kept mentioning that she was 4. I only remember that she's not yet 6, no actual age was given. But now that the author has stated that she's around 5, that makes things a lot easier.

The reason Anya gets dizzy, sometimes, around loid is cuz he's VERY MUCH an over thinker. His brain processes too much information and thinking trails for her to keep up with. As for yor....Anya just knows mama isn't book smart. She's strong and battle smart. Yor and yuri are 7 years apart. You will meet him soon. Fair warning, look at the run times. Some episodes have after credit scenes

This episode is one of my favourites indeed because of best girl Becky! It was a bit better portrayed in the manga, simply because you can draw how the thoughts of others are fading away and getting smaller. Anya was scared because of all the negative thoughts around her, but with Becky declaring they should be best friends, the negative ones washed away. Sometimes you just need that one good friend to have your back and even the scary school will be all right!

The biggest thing that I love about this series is how they convey what it means to be parents, what it means to educate, and what it means to be a child. For that, this series will forever be in my top 10 series. There are so many profound messages that literally everybody could take away and apply them in our lives. And I'm serious, I think every parents and educators should watch/read this series.

So cute. The voice actor who plays Anya, Atsumi Tanezaki, is a real genius. She also plays Lady Nagant in My Hero Academia. In SPY x FAMILY, Junichi Suwabe also plays SUKUNA in JJK. Can you recognize whose character's voice he is? Also, about another voice actor I love, Atsuko Tanaka passed away on August 20th at the age of 61. She has been active since the 90s, and I think her best role was Motoko Kusanagi in Ghost in the Shell. She also played many other characters, such as Konan in Shippuden, Hanami in JJK, and Flamme in FRIEREN. I am so saddened by the sudden news of her passing, but I heard that she had been battling illness for a year, and I sincerely hope that she rests in peace...

A thing to remember as well Anya is like 4 maybe 5 at the very most while all her classmates are 6. She is actually behind all her classmates who were also rich so they had private tutors. If anything the fact she can nip at their heels academically despite being so far behind them speaks to how clever Anya actually is.

If the wikia page is accurate, Anya is 5, not 4. And I'm inclined to believe it. We saw in a flashback, that she was already able to speak, while still in the lab. I think the timing would be a bit too tight for her to be released from the facility and be adopted and returned four times, if she was just 4 at the start of the series. I think with Damian it goes deeper than not having been hit. With his family being so high in status, they might as well be royalty, it's hard to believe anyone other than his parents and brothers would have ever stood up to him, violent or otherwise, either out of fear of his family or due to trying to bootlick, to get favours from said family. Not to mention that in such high levels of society, people are almost always putting on masks and hiding their true emotions. That punch from Anya, is probably the most honest interaction he ever had with anyone, outside of his family... or maybe even within his family. But at the same time he must uphold the standards of his family and doesn't want his sycophants... erm, "friends" to think of him as weak... that boy must go through so many emotional rollercoasters right now, even before his budding romantic feelings get thrown into the mix, which he wouldn't know how to handle either, since at six and being very sheltered, this is surely his first crush.

Apparently the info comes from a fairly recent interview or Q&A with the manga's author where he noted Anya is "around 5." And yeah, it makes more sense given how Anya needed to have been old enough to learn to read when she was at the research facility that gave her powers over a year before Twilight met her. There's a big difference between what a 3 year old and 4 year old can do.

If you like Spy X Family, maybe you should try Yuru Camp. No yelling, no pressure, no drama... It's one of those series you watch when you want to feel warm. Every time I feel down, I watch one (or all) episodes. And for me, although I like all the characters in SxF, the best one only appears in the next season (which is Bond)
