Just my 2 cents, taking Yamato at his word about haste - I think he's forced into the team resting due to Sakura's injury flaring up because he now knows he has two teammates at sub-optimal strength. Plus, Sakura's medical skills are irreplaceable whereas both Yamato and Naruto are combat types.

Blood type in Japan is similar to how western folks use zodiacs. Like it's so ingrained in their culture that some employers place it on job applications. Same with some schools and it's been a major factor in the dating scenes for some folks. Mostly amongst the older generations. I'm not sure if it's still as important for the younger generations.
