I had a bad cat bite on my index finger 4 days ago, ..my finger blew up and cellulitis spread down my hand and across base of middle and ring finger. My sausage finger was so tight and uncomfortable but swelling has started to go down somewhat after i got on some high strength antibiotics. Now im watching for latent tenosynovitis.. thank you for the informational video!

Good Video! I was hospitalized couple weeks ago with what they said was Cellulitis.. they finally sent a hand surgeon to see me after 2 nights who finally made this diagnosis.. surgery was done/antibiotics and it's been over 2 weeks now.. Finger still pretty swollen.. i hope this is something that just takes time.. Haven't seen any info. with regards to recovery time.. Also getting OT for it.

They sent me home with cellulitis I’m pretty sure i have this… how long did you wait to go back

@@jocelynmorales2310 me too I left the er after my new stray cat scratch my middle finger deeply they said It was cellulitis, I booked a appointment with my orthopedist he says its this and wants to do surgery but I leave out of town in 2 weeks I doubt recovery will be shorter than that

@@jocelynmorales2310 Hey so I’m currently in the hospital just had surgery I still have pain in my finger but I’m sure that’s as expected but it’s a big relief than what it was hours ago. I hope your appointment goes well. I had my mom call and they gave her an appointment on the 6th but my pain was excruciating I called back and they fit me in within a couple hours so if you’re in a lot of pain and can’t wait I would call your orthopedist after hours line and see if they can get you in as soon as possible

what doctor to go to if someone suspects this infection? There is no redness, fever, etc, just swollen lower part of the finger, thanks

@@EMin5 Hi, I am homebound and had a puncture injury on my pointer finger and despite disinfection of the wound right away it got infected. I have a home-based primary care service and the nurse practitioner had to get a photo from me and she prescribed Doxycycline about 5 days after it happened since they are only doing telemedicine because of the COVID-19 outbreak. She only prescribed 3 days of it, it went down quite a bit from what it was originally, but after 3 days it started swelling again, she prescribed 3 more days of Doxycycline which helped but after it was finished now swells up a bit more and into the second segment of my finger. I am trying to stay out of the ER because of the risk of catching COVID and my state is short on PPE. Would they be able to do IV Vancomycin at home through Home Healthcare without having to open it back up? The puncture wound on the outside has healed. I show all the signs you spoke of.

I have problems with extending. Early in the morning especially. When I try to extend it stops half way than extends fully but still its hard to make a fist. And I have two fingers that are affected.

Hi my sisters hand thumb and index (right hand) is getting pain a lot and its color also getting change into lite green what is the reason evrythng was fine past weeks. It's started all of sudden can u please tell me. Sorry for my english first time she did hot and cold water exercise for the three finger and comsulted a doctor now she is suffering pain with thum and index.
