Don't wait, just get the surgery to fix the problem. It is worth it! I'm never quick to suggest surgery, but I've seen my husband's issue with trigger finger. He tried to treat it everyday and ran the risk of making it worse. He finally got the surgery and now his problem is fixed forever, saving his tendon from further injury.

When in Zimbabwe in the nineties I had both hands operated similtaneously , the surgeon was surprised at my request but with the help of plastic bags I managed all the necesary biological requirements untill everything healded, stiches finally disolving in my bath .

Arthritis is also a risk factor. And mine showed up at age 72. Splinting 24/7 and icing of the nodule really improved it.
@munazah98388 ай бұрын
But 24/7 splinting will erase your crease lines at the knuckle. Mine started to vanish on my trigger thumb 😢 When u dont move a knuckle, it loses its mobility forever. WATCH OUT.....!!!!!!!

I have that on my right ring finger, it is not very painful, but it locks in the closed position. There is no audible pop, but it pops when I open it...like a latch has been released. Cool video!

Massage truly helps at the nodules and throughout the forearm and hand. Stretching and drinking water were with electrolytes like Himalayan salt or Celtic sea salt in your water

I have arthritis and osteoporosis, I'm not diabetic, this started about 4 months ago and though I do everything I use a splint while I rest, but my middle finger is swollen most of the time, after I do my daily routine . It is very painful and impossible to move it, I'm afraid that it will brake and worsen, as of now, I try to keep it covered while I sleep. I had carpal tunnel syndrome and had surgery in both hands 9 years ago. Could that have caused this problem?
@BaldwinChiuOfficial7 ай бұрын
no doctor has been able to explain to me why my trigger finger only gets stuck when i close it by clenching a fist. But it will NOT get locked when i just move the finger while relaxed with my other hand. Also when i push my forearm pressure point, it closes my finger adn then it locks. my dr. doesn't know why either adn just says "Get surgery".

I definitely have this. My pinky gets stuck in a flexed position. It "pops" when I stretch it open and happens in the mornings and gets better throughout the day when it's in constant use. I don't have the pain, though. Started to happen a little over a month ago, and I'm 37 yrs old.

@munazah98385 ай бұрын
@Bluemann023 diabetic can be a,reason but not always. Strong chances are that you do certain activities that involve constant posture or gripping. And over time, muscles get stiff and turn into nodules. Plz study more on your problem to counter it there n then. It only gets worse

According to Me High LDL Cholesterol Triglycerides are the main culprits, after starting 20 mg atorvastatin 1 tablet daily, it not only bought My Cholesterol levels under control but also right palm 3 fingers at one go n left palm 2 fingers, were in bent position n deep sleep it used to straighten up on it's own giving horrible pain 😁😁. I am a very long standing Type 1 Diabetic on twice a day Insulin Injections, My GP told Me that cause of T1D Trigger Fingers are happening, upon blood Test came to know that My Cholesterol levels are in horrible position n as soon as Statin was started Trigger Fingers resolved. Rectify The Cause.

I saw a surgeon who recommended starting with a cortisone injection. He said 70% of people are cured after one or two shots. My sister cured hers with 24/7 splinting - get an Oval-8 type splint and be sure to measure properly for the right size. I declined the shot and splinted. I also iced the swollen nodule off and on. It has improved about 95%. I will continue splinting as long as necessary. I am a violinist and it is on my right (bow arm) hand. I don't splint while playing anymore and it hasn't had a negative effect. The surgeon said that surgery should be a last resort.
