On 2 September 1998, a fire breaks out on Swissair Flight 111 while in flight, damaging vital systems and causing the aircraft to crash into the Atlantic Ocean off Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia, with no survivors. I love flying. My first flight was at age 4 in 1971. I was on a plane just last month. But, I have to admit that I do take a very good look at fellow passengers nowadays. On the other hand, tomorrow isn't guaranteed and no one knows how they'll leave this earth. Just be ready to meet the heavenly Father like the criminal that was crucified with Christ!

Snipers pointed at the cockpit would be very ineffective against the 1 inch glass. Even if the bullet did penetrate, because of the unpredictability of shooting through glass, the sniper might not even hit the target. But I guess they did what they could.
