We just got back from there yesterday! We loved it. The food was great. It great to see different cultures. You are definitely correct about how active people are there. 13:53 Sounds like it's time to get a small wooden spoon 😆 Definitely a travel must-have in my luggage. I just like the versatility, and if you order delivery or take-out and they forget to include cutlery, the wood spoon is a great alternative. Easy to clean in the bathroom sink, too.

Car ride or walk?? The Paris Metro is great! Even when I was there 20 years ago, you could easily buy a ticket from a machine where you can select English (or one of many popular languages). Google maps, lots of posted maps and many other resources can help plan your journey.

I love Madrid Airport! It's super modern and fun to fly into and out of as a passenger! Three hours flight time south of Madrid is the Canary Islands which are a beautiful group of islands in the Atlantic Ocean! I totally reccomend you do a trip to the Canary Islands! You will not regret it!!

That "prosciutto" is Jamón. It's literally everywhere in Spain and it's amazing. In Madrid they have a chain called Museo de Jamón (Ham Museum) and it's magical.

This video made me so home sick for my favorite place on Earth, Spain. Didn’t spend much time in Madrid when I lived in Spain. The food OMG, the eggs with potatoes and jamón ibérico and pimientos is my favorite breakfast. Anything with jamón ibérico is my favorite.

Maybe adding an anti thief crossbody with RFID and slash proof might be good to get for where you're out exploring in different countries. They may not be all that pretty but saves from worry about your handbag getting taken, cut off or scans your credit cards then that's a whole other mess.

You can take a photo of the menu and then go to your Photos app and I like the text in the photo, if you tap and hold on the highlighted text, a menu should appear, and one of the options is translate. This is built right into iOS and you don’t need to download an app for it.

I always keep my tiny wallet in my front pocket which is always tight even I can't fit my hand in there easily without wiggles. That's the only thing I care about. So I carry a purse/crossbody but I always keep my small wallet in the front of me 👍 We travel fulltime. We have been to so many big cities with no issues, even Egypt the king of people who hound you. On airport travel days my husband holds the passports in a fanny pack under his shirt in the front but I sometimes worry about those. I wish passports were smaller! They don't fit in front pockets. We spent two months in Madrid and it was wonderful, I never had any issue with pick pockets or pick purses 😫

When I’m a tourist, I only sightsee with a tiny purse worn under my coat which is short just under breast/armpit level. I have seen way too many pickpockets attempt/do their thing in Paris, Rome and London. And if someone asks us for directions/help when walking with our bags/luggage, I step back and guard the bags and let my husband help/look at the map. I make a loud statement to my kids how we need to watch for thieves/scammers. 😂 I’m an introverted, extrovert LEO !

Yes that's the only other place I've seen pickpocketing first hand. They usually work in groups and one will bump into you while another takes something. Very clever

When I lived and studied in Sevilla, Espana, in 2007, I remember being told by the Director of the study abroad program that I was in, "Never put your wallet in your back pocket, don't fall for someone who acts like they want to take a poll, and don't ever stop to talk to the gypsies. One of them will tell you your fortune, and the other one will rob you blind." I also remember walking down Constitution Ave one day on the way to class, and hearing a lady crying and screaming at a gypsy because she had robbed her (just like the guy in your story). Lesson learned: always be aware of your surroundings while in Europe!
