Flight Attendant Q&A some really great random questions

I've been saving up some good questions for a Q&A. Here we go...

Great questions..except the person saying the company is doomed. YES people please pay for your kid(s) seat(s)…don’t rely on passengers or Flight Attendants trying to move seats around to accommodate something that could’ve been avoided if you would just purchase ALL seats for your entire family..it can put a lot of passengers in a uncomfortable situation (especially if it has to do with them having to move to the rear of the plane in order for your kid(s) to sit next to you and could possibly cause a delay…so just pay for the seat(s) it will make one less thing to worry about. THANKS for posting Steven. BTW I like the hat on you.

I was a con once on a flight and a mom came on with an infant and another child just about to turn 2. They ended up asking me to hold the infant. 😳. I was single, no kids. Terrified. Luckily, I was flying with my mom and she handled the baby no problem. Even when the diaper leaked all over her. Thankfully it was only a one hour flight.

I think it was called “Airline.” That reality show about Southwest. I remember watching it when it was first out-early to mid-2000’s I think. You’re right, they’d try and book the person on the next flight to let them sober up. Lol

Steven when you were talking about having time off I just had to comment. I'm a 59 year old woman that has been a mail carrier for 32 years. I only get every other Saturday off. That's 2 days a month. I love my job but I must say it's the worst company to work for. They are always taking something from us. Ask any rural carrier they will tell you. Anyway I wanted to say you look amazing in that hat 😊

Has it always been that way re time off for USPO? It used to be that government jobs were the jobs to get and I did retire from a County position in 2017. A co-worker still with the same department that I retired from mentioned that they recently had 4 positions to fill, interviewed, offered jobs, and only 2 of the new employees showed up for the jobs on the first day!! We've had the same female carrier for many years on this rural route where I live in Central California...she is terrific!! I can tell when she's not working as she'll deliver any packages to my back door. When she's not working I never knew where a package will be dumped!!

I just received my CJO from the other ULCC yesterday and I wanted to thank you (again) for your videos. I found your interview tips videos to be the most helpful ones I watched of that genre and they really set my mind at ease. Also, the fact you're just sharing your life without trying to be an influencer is so much more helpful to understanding the lifestyle than most anyone else out there. I know your company will be around a long time so you enjoy that senority and keep giving that first class service in the skies and online 🤗!

Steven you’re so blessed to never have been sick during a trip 🥴. I’ve been seriously ill in the middle of trip three times in six years. 1. Covid 2. Bad gall bladder and ended up out for 2 months (I finished my trip 😂) 3. Cyclical vomiting my first trip back on the line after gall bladder. I actually felt better the next day but was too weak to push carts or arm doors. My co workers took extremely good care of me all times. The company? Meh

Steven, beautiful BUDDY, and, of course, he had a comment to make. If only WE could be so wonderful. Definitely do not see the banana folding. Probably some adaptations of some sort. The banana has a devoted bunch of customers too. By the way I applied back in 2023 just before the engines issue came to light, snd the team sent me an email the application is on file, but no new hiring at that time. Oh, not only do I like the hat, but even more do i like that dark blue shirt you were wearing. One more thing about being DOOMED - the person must have some need to talk down the banana - almost like someone hoping theTitanic would sink and then telling everyone how horrible it was and how sorry it made him/her feel. Have come back from being in DEN 2 days and getting a CJO from ‘the world’s greenest airline’. This is my 2nd CJO. Had a very good time. The event is really a lot of fun with lots of jokes and great people to talk with. Did nothing about practicing ant STAR type questions. I figured the expert FAs examining the recruits would be able to spot that kind of stuff right off. I did say that I was more into the ride itself than the destination, and I think that worked. Was just myself. Am too old to try to effect any illusions. I hope I can make it in training. After all, I am 82. As for reserve next month, no one will be able to call you a high timer. Make sure your floaties are working. Watching the flooding at the underground garages (built for it) there in Vegas. Cards Against Humanity is the best. Question--Where does Fatigue fit into the scheme? Can you call out? Does CS catch that before hand? How bad or does it ding you? Are you ready for SuperBowl to hit your town? I feel the same way about movies/shows about 911. They have never asked a Dispatcher about what really happens. MayDay on YT has good air crisis stories.

We were shown a few episodes of Why Planes Crash in training. There was a whole day where we watched crash and 9/11 videos. Such a depressing day! I died when you said "I don't know my employee number, I lost my badge!"... you have that memorized so fast!

agreed 100% in the 18 years I have worked in this industry and 4 of them being at the same airline as you I have met some amazing individuals as passengers .... now do we have some A**holes of course but the good outlays the bad !!!!

Nah, your airline will be okay. Will there be changes? Maybe. Your strategy of preserving your seniority is correct, and should you merge with another, your seniority would be factored into the outcome. There's good and bad and indifferent everywhere. I absolutely LOVE my company but I'm sure I can run into someone who absolutely hates my company. That's cool and their experience. My experience is different and I also work with the most AWESOME people. These were all really great questions!
