Flight controller cannot go into DFU/Bootloader mode | Here's how! I had the Moblite7 HDZero that I wanted to fly but for some strange reason I just couldnt get the Flight Controller (FC) into DFU/Bootloader mode to reflash the firmware.
Try as I might I was struggling with the boot pads and then later realized that I may need to do a bypass. Thankfully, Betaflight has that feature that allows us to bypass the boot pads or boot buttons to put the FC into DFU/Bootloader mode.

That's exactly what I needed. Nothing else was forking for this skystars min F722 HD Pro EFC. Boot button not working and betaflight was not able to put it in DFU mode through the GUI. Thank you!

I’m curious 🧐 I have the moblite 7 Walksnail. I wanted to get off elrs 3.0.1 because there is no lua scripts. What version of elrs are you running? I am also on 4.3.1 beta flight.

u can use the lua script from v2** it'll work. Im running ELRS V3.0 and the same BF 4.3.1. 4.4 has been known to be buggy on micros and whoops.

You didn't mention doing the factory cli dump or is that on the firmware hex file,im having the same problem.👍

aaah!! Yes, cause this video was only for getting into the DFU mode. If you can get into Betaflight, go to CLi and type BL. And yes, only use the hex file if ur using ELRS V3

Your videos are very helpful! I have the Mobula 6 HDZero and it’s bricked. I can’t connect to PC at all, get the ‘failed to open serial port’ error message. I’ve tried all methods including soldering the boot pads but still nothing. I can’t use CLI command because my PC won’t recognize. Any ideas? Thank you!

or try to solder up the boot pads and plug in ur FC, if that doesnt work, then try swapping the usb cable, if not.. i think its not fixable.

I have same case like this. I successfully use cli to mode dfu n type BL. Then windows detected new hardware. There is USB serial bootload in device manager. But in BF is not DFU mode. How to solve this problem

There must be something wrong with my board. It connects to BF just fine but it will not go into DFU mode at all. In fact whenever I type "bl" in the CLI or just press the "enter bootloader mode" button on the welcome screen or when I hold the boot button down, the FC begins getting very hot very fast, but it will not say DFU in the Manual Selection tab. All I did was flash my TX module to elrs 3.2, which prevents it from binding to the Mobula7. Now everything I try to upgrade the firmware on the Mobula, it doesn't work because it won't go into DFU. I guess I'll try to reflash my module back to an elrs version 2.x and see if it will bind to the Mobula again. Love your videos. They're very helpful. I'm just afraid mine may have a hardware issue since it heats up to almost too hot to touch after a few seconds after I try to enter DFU.

oh man, totally understand bruh. So if u have issues with the FC do contact Happymodel [e-mail] and let them know the issue. If ur okay with flying it on V2xx then just fly it as is. Happy flying bruh

@@coffeelover2023 I think get in touch with the seller or Happymodel. That FC shouldnt be getting getting too hot while u plug into betaflight

aaaah... ok. Here's a few things u can try:- 1) change the cable(try different ones) - this is usually the problem 2) use zadig to fix the driver issue if ur using a windows computer

Hello I have the moblua 6 Elrs and when I put into boot loader mode it shows up as sound device and won’t flash nothing ive try will keep it from turning into a sound device impulseRC or zag dint work neither did trying to update the driver though windows

can you go into betaflight? My advise is, If the Mobula6 is flying well, just leave it at its stock Betaflight firmware. Dont flash to Betaflight 4.4 as it will screw up some settings in the Mobula6

well i couldnt bind in to my controller other wise but i ended up reinstall betaflight and drivers and that did the trick. but i would like the get the stock preset with pid tune back for it i reset my settings while trying to get it to update

first of thanks for the video. I was hoping that this one would actually be able to help me but not lol I have a Diamond F4 that's bricked after flashing Quicksilver. It's not recognized after plugging in USB so not able to use the BL command. I have tried multiple Data Cables. Driver fixer, Zadig and everything else I've tried doesn't work. if you know another fix I'd appreciate it. Thanks for the video at least lol

ok bro, I've checked for u, I was told that you should hold the boot button and plug in the FC, it should go into DFU mode and you can reflash the FC with the correct firmware
